Back in the early 90's I used to do acid every weekend throughout high school. I say go for it, nothing compares. I don't care what people say. I have done Mesc, DMT, ayuasca and the other odd RC drugs. Acid is by far in its own league. You MUST do it some where you are 100% comfortable in with people you 100% trust. No friends of friends hanging out the first time you do it. I would suggest that you do not do it in any public place your first time. A nice dark relaxing room with some chill music is all you need. Its a total mind fuck but just remember, its only the drug that is making the changes you are seeing, not anything else. Sit back and enjoy it.

I would bet that you don't actually have LSD though. Ever since William Leonard Pickard got busted the global supply dried up. You most likely are getting some phenethylamines that someone brewed up in a lab. They're still all good though. Just as fun just not as "clean" feeling as lsd. Pure lsd doesn't feel dirty like some people say.

I went to a Greatful Dead show; well to the parking lot, to aquire some LSD during the summer of 1988...found a guy selling 100 hit blotter sheets of "Orange Sunshine". I would say mid-level powerful stuff. Was great, very tingly body/leg feeling, nice visual effects, but no really whacked out visions of things that weren't there. It just intensified the World around me to a degree...music was so clear and different (I am tone deaf and I think it let me hear things "normally" for once), and I had night vision with a side order of zoom-vision, it was cool. About 8-9 hours in I thought it was wearing off so I tried to go to sleep...bad idea, as soon as I closed my eyes I could see a crystal clear image of everything I was even casually thinking about, nothing scary just IMAX like clarity of ANYTHING I cared to envision. Wanna see yourself having sex with a Playboy Bunny...no problem, Christie Brinkey and you? (or for modern dudes maybe Christina Ricci or maybe Katie Holmes wow)...yep easy as pie and 3D for hours if that's what you want. I would imagine if you DID want to see monsters and such, that would be fairly effortless also...but why even try to scare the crap out of yourself?

Bad side...I got sick of it and had about 90+ hits left, since it was very inexpensive and less powerful than I had tried one time before, I gave it away to some friends. I got a telephone call about 3 hours later, this one guy who I wrongly guessed would have had a strong enough mind to handle his rational thinking through a "trip", didn't. My friends were freaking out because he had climbed halfway up a large high tension line power "pole" (steel tower) and was claiming he could fly...and seemingly was about to prove it. Was easy getting him down by just telling them to tell him that it was always a good idea to take off from the ground (when 1st mastering the art of flying), not a high structure, building, tree, etc. He did come down before I got there and from the grass stains on his shirt, he had obviously tried "taking off" from the ground...lol. I felt horrible giving them the LSD...I got the sheet back (80+ hits left) and immediately burned it all up.

LSD is something I would recommend you avoid. But then again if you are an adult and have a clear understanding of how to maintain a firm grip on your thoughts (common sense) then try 1/2 of whatever dosage you aquire, and definately stay home. This mind altering substance is a huge "no-no" for driving...do NOT operate anything more complicated or mobile than your phone. Take it at home/in a house, best at night in a dark room with a candle burning, music playing, and taking some Vit-C helps with the visuals as well as the headache sometimes associated with the "coming down" part. I have never had any sort of "flashbacks" nor loss of "who" I was before I tried it...no dain-bramage at all. There is no hope of turning it off once that trip starts, so buckle in and think good thoughts...a mind under the infuence of LSD is what it eats, so feed it pleasant happy thoughts, or try to solve the World's mysteries. If you feed it violence, TSHTF, Doom, or hate...you will experience it right there in your head...as seemingly "real" as it gets.

It can be a very interesting "tool" for delving into the possiblities of "thinking"...heck I still believe that being on LSD is the way the Universe REALLY is, but we as humans would never be able to function if we were tripping 24/7/365, so somewhere in the grand sceme of things God/Evolution built our brains to secrete "anti-LSD" just so we could make sense of life.

If you are under 18-21 (an adult) don't take it, don't ask these sorts of questions on here.

PROBLEM IS,the body MAKES that same chemical ( Liturgic acid ), and IF it just has, your dose, no matter how small can cause a reaction to an OVERDOSE, putting you in a mental hospital, like two young doctors at Boston General Hospital did, when the took some home to 'experiment' with it, to better treat some patients were getting in the VERY early seventies.

Its great OP, just make sure you are at home with somebody you care about, and make groundrules to take care of each other during the trip. As long as you are in a safe and comfortable environment it is a great ride, just dont leave home.

I never really liked shrooms made me sick most of the time, acid is alot of fun if its clean but if you get the REAL formula of lsd then you'll totally understand what level the 60's people were on. Unfortunately i've only come across the real stuff a hand full of times in my life.

Set and Setting! That what I've learned over the years. Before taking any mind altering substances especially for the first time, make sure your in the right mind set (In the right mood not scared or angry or negative) and make sure you have the right setting(who your with, where you are, what kind of objects are around you)

Friend..you body and life experience is your personal choice..and if you are open and free minded then most trips can be both fun and revealing! But if you are the type to have hidden hangups,fears or paranoias, be careful to be in the right frame of mind, because they can all come out with a vengance on LSD, so be with people who are chilled and happy and that care.

I've not done acid or shrooms for a long time, but have to admit I never had a bad trip myself, although some other friend's did get a little a bit lost and low for a while..but they were not always stable to start with..if you get mt drift LOL.

It is like having your senses all mixed up. The areas in your brain that are normally isolated to very specific data processing are wide open to each other. Claims of tasting colors or seeing sounds are not far from the truth. Like having your wires mixed up. Because the channels are open to the increased processing, time appears to be distorted. You attempt to process time slices to try to reconcile what you are experiencing to no avail. Emotions are amplified. After the peak, you will be able to look into yourself, but don't be alarmed at what you find, and it is ok to cry like a little baby.

It is definitely a life changer in that you will see everything differently afterwards. Not unlike shrooms, but shrooms is more a touchy feely happy experience. Acid is very intense. Introspection may lead to bad trips, but it is a revelation that afterwards allows you a better understanding of why you are they way you are, enabling you to change if desired.

There are research chems that mimic a shrooms acid roll & let me tell you,the demons are there. Never again in my life do I ever want to experience the demon reptile illusions that everyone including people on tv were transforming into.

To repeat...first time in a very comfortable (sequestered, non-public) place with people you completely trust. Be SURE you have a baby sitter, meaning someone experienced that is sober just in case things go sour.

My experience, years ago, was awesome! Music and melodies took on a completely different level. At times I could 'see' the music. Never had a bad trip or a flashback (and I was a frequent user). Some movies were really cool, but consentration to watch was difficult. Your thoughts will tend to branch from one thing to the next, to the next, and so on, making for some fun conversations, but difficult to stay on a task.

One more tip: start small and keep a handle on what is real and what is not. I had some super intense trips, but always could tell real from not real.

Be careful. It is an extremely powerful psychadelic. Friends have had bad, bad trips and swore -never again!-. Keep a tether on reality, have a babysitter, a large collection of good music, a lot of water and OJ, and a comfortable spot to loose yourself. Stay away from anything metaphysical; can lead to a bad trip.

My experiences was decades ago, and I eventually just outgrew it. Can't imagine doing it again...it had it's time and ran it's course.
