Strange Siting With Sirius in North America?

I noticed it putting on quite a show tonight look to the North of it and Procyon in scintillating quite a bit too.

You weren't suppose to see that!! I thought I Chemtrailled your area???? DAMN!!!!

Its putting on quite a show here in Mo. also, noticed it last night but not as colorful. Several threads on this, alot of people noticing

Its Venus.

The color may be off a bit sometimes but I can see a whit disk with a 10x binoculars.

This is possibly why there was so much chemtrailing in my area today. We are in for a show this year.

Venus is not in the South right now but I have seen it tonight. It's as bright as the Moon!

I figure Venus has already set in the west, so most likely I was looking at Jupiter. It has a more muted color than Venus which is often blazing & star like.

The extra twinkling and color variation is an atmospheric effect from warm and cold air lares - aka "temperature inversion".

Not Jupiter. He's talking about Sirius. I noticed it too OP. It was going nuts around 8 pm Central time.

I've seen like 10 threads on GLP on this topic. I first noticed this back in 1996 and was like WOAH where did that come from. I like watching the sky but somehow I never noticed this before. SIrus is especially bright and flashy in winter months.

It goes BLUE RED GREEN its crazy. all the colors; it does not appear to be atmospheric disturbance. I've wondered what it is on multiple occasions. I understand that it is actually a twin star, could it be that we are seeing some kind of wobble from the binary system?

Very good insight. My wife was thinking something similar, that it had to do with the binary system. I was confused as to how I've been sky watching all my life and never noticed it like this ??

My very thoughts as well. I have looked out my backdoor almost every night for the past 10 years at this constellation. Sirius has NEVER been this bright. I had to look it up on a chart just to make sure that was what I was seeing, as it was so unusual looking. And all I could think was "huh, that has never looked like this" ....whats up people???

It was distinctly blue from my vantage point in Illinois. It caught my attention so much that I went online to look up what it was. This is strange that others noticed it as well tonight.

And whatever planet that was in western sky tonight was sooo bright, I thought I was seeing a UFO in the night sky. It stopped me dead in my tracks as I came in from my car to the house. I live in Montana, far far away from city lights. So star gazing is just an everyday thing here. But something is going on with the crazy brightness in the sky. BUT are sun is also extemely bright, brighter then it has ever been. SOOOO .... What does it all mean ???

it has been happening for months...a star is being born...its moons will become planets as it expands, and the whole system is reconfigured into a binary...

That was Venus tonight. Looked amazing!

Now I know when the air is cold there is less water in the atmosphere, which is why winter skies are so crisp and clear. That said, I do agree this is even beyond the normal brightness of a winter night. Signs and wonders.

I know I will be keeping an eye on Sirius in the nights to come to see if it intensifies.
