The TSA and their ilk: Now at a Social Security office near you! And this time, they're ARMED!

They're calling it "operation shield," and it's a "show of force" by Federal Protective Service officers (Homeland Security), but this time, they're at the Social Security Administration building in downtown Leesburg (Florida).

These are to be "routine, unannounced visits" done by Federales who'll be double-checking the effectiveness of private security firms at federal buildings.

And the most disturbing quote from this article is that one Homeland official said they were there to look for "unauthorized persons and potentially disruptive" activities.


So, all of you who said we had to stop flying to avoid the TSA's egregious violations of our fourth-amendment rights, I guess we'd better advise the senior citizens to stop visiting their social security offices if they don't like being searched.
