I know a gal who took 10 years to get a four year degree in "general studies" ~ 10 years! ~ and still has never had a job 2 years after graduating.

Un-fuckin-believable.

Sounds like my ex-wife...I paid for her to go to school for almost a decade, to the point she was going to have to retake some classes because too much time had passed, and she ended up with a general studies degree and is a secretary basically...data entry type, near minimum wage.

yeesh glad to hear she is your ex!

Even after she got a job, I still had to pay daycare, gave her a credit card for gas, paid for everything... and she never put a cent in the bank!

Yeah, glad she's gone too :)

I enjoy my free time, it is amazing how free time makes a difference, and it is good to have parents who can provide all of this.

I have been dating girls since 2000, some of them long term, including the one I have now, it is great experience to love a beautiful girl, they all wanted me to work but I have not found what I want to do in my life.

Nah, not really, I gave her enough to live on for a couple years to get her settled...I kept everything except the van I bought her for our anniversary and her clothes...including the kids :)

Awesome. Glad to hear it.
During the comercial slave trade they used slaves to capture free people and enslave them. That comes to mind when I see someone post "get a job".

I've barely worked myself, but only because I've enjoyed what I've done.

Dude, some day you're going to look back on your life and realize that you've not produced anything in the entire time you've been on earth. All the friends will wander off and you'll be left with a meaningless, empty existence with no redeeming value to society at all.

Re: I am 34 years old and I never had a job!
I used to have jobs but now I don't and I couldn't be happier.

It's because I am self-employed.

I could never live off my parents, or someone else's hard labour. I would feel ashamed to be nothing but a drag on the people who care about me the most.

Still, I hated having a job - working for someone else. They always want more than what you officially signed up for, so I always feel scammed. Most workers will take it, to some extent anyway, which means you have to, too. People don't stand strong together to demand their rights. Especially in a poor economy, most workers will take it even more. Employers are very evil right now.

If I make less money, I would rather find more and more ways to spend less, and stretch my dollar farther, than consider working for someone else. And I save in advance for a rainy day - or a day that I just don't feel like working.

I do suppose some people work for truly honorable employers. If I had such a situation I guess that might be ok too. As long as you have your free time as well - nothing wrong with a job that treats you decently, like a person, but expects you to work, and work hard, from 9-5 (excluding your lunch), but knows to not screw with your own time starting at 5:01pm. Unless you agreed -without pressure- to work overtime, for overtime pay. Yeah. I drive a hard bargain. And it's not an employee's market. How many employers are really that honourable?

That's why I don't work for others. It's ideal to never have a job.

But OP, I don't know if you're joking or truly spoiled, but either way, you come off like a little obnoxious brat.
