Anonymous Coward User ID: 8299342 Canada 01/21/2012 10:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been told by several people the patch says it may cause vivid dreams. Then every one of them have basically said the same thing, Vivid dreams yep vivid nightmares and you can not wake your self up. Quoting: Gabu 1507849 That got me thinking and for years I have wanted to sleep with the patch maybe 10 years. Two weeks ago my wife of 7 years handed me a box of patches. the biggest ones 21mg. So Not wanting to be chicken I finally got the box out opened a patch then read in black of the box one more time and since I am a guy I read in bold letters if you smoke under 10 cigarettes per day start with step 2 14mg not the 21 mg. Yep started going chicken. Wife and I agreed being a little chicken might be smart. Getting the 14mg for next weekend. See I have never smoked, well a cigar or few, never done mushrooms do not drink coffee, nope to coke, and do not pop pills. not at mid life crisis still 4 years till that I'm living till 88. So need help! Figure I have wanted to have a vivid dream for at least 20 years. Seeing how I am a little crazy, because I think I will be able to control that dream. Been looking up techniques for years and been working on one for months. Every time I see my hands and think of it I say to myself "AM I dreaming" even if I know I am awake. So has anyone had vidid drams while waring the patch to bed First, lucid dreaming (your goal, control the dream) is possible for pretty much anyone. I have never used a patch to have success, but I've only had about 6-7 fully lucid dreams in the past 5 years. The biggest key to having lucid dreams, or well, to start having dreams at all (that you remember) is to set your alarm approximately 6 hours after you go to sleep. So you go to bed at 12, set it for 6am, when it goes off stay up for a minute or three, and reset your alarm for an hour or so from then. Then keep repeating this. at this site ---> [link to obe4u.com] You can download a free e-book from the out of body institute, and its really good to get yourself into lucid dreaming. |

One of the side effects of the patch is that when you put it on, its very itchy, so much so that you will wanna scratch it right off. So use the lower dose so its not so itchy. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8865529 United States 01/21/2012 10:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'd suggest not becoming a nicotine addict like myself simply to have vivid dreams. If you want to experience it, buy the cheapest, lowest dosage nicotine patch available at your local pharmacy, quarter it, and try that. Since you smoke the occasional cigar you should be fine. |

The typical stress dreams as well as the really good ones. It was like seeing them in color vs black n white for me but still the same dream themes. The colors, clarity, and recall are much more enhanced with the patch imo. I used the patch to quit smoking it worked for awhile...ha. |

There are others but those are the ones I've tried and they did enhance the dream experience, although I have pretty vivid dreams to begin with. I'd never heard of using the patch and hesitate to do so, preferring safer and non-addictive alternatives. Let us know how your experiences go! For nothing is secret that will not be revealed… |

So has anyone had vidid drams while waring the patch to bed This is a theory, go to the store and buy some scented oil a strong smell, train your self by the smell of it, and as you are sleeping have your wife have her hold it under you nose, while you are sleeping, if you trained yourself beforehand, than you will know in your sleep exactly what that smell is. That is the smell of LUCID DREAMING. you will have to tell/train yourself/smell the oil before you go sleep, 20 days smelling whatever kind of oil you buy. oil should be not a strong dark odor, it will bring bad results. Oil should smell something like a sweet neutral smell. GoodLuck !! |

I would love to try a more natural method but our government thinks that is bad so there for I must think that way too. Well at least if i were a sheeple I would think that way. Go Ron Paul Wife it at a phone bank right now. Man the GOP is crazier then I if they think anyone one but Ron Paul can win against the O-man. After all can anyone really see Mitt getting the Dems or Libs like Ron Paul Sorry about that. But yes natural like DMT never done it but I know I want to see the elves and I think with a vivid dream I could see whatever I want. I will look in to 5-htp and galantamine thanks. |

So has anyone had vidid drams while waring the patch to bed I had EXTREMELY vivid dreams, but I had no problem waking myself up. It wasn't an unpleasant experience. I used to have "night terrors" (sleep paralysis) when I was young, but got over that completely after seeing a show on TV that explained that it was caused by a hormone secreted by the brain during sleep. That might explain why I didn't have any problems waking myself up. My dreams while on the patch are the only dreams I can remember that were in full color. The thing is, if you're wanting to get high then you'd be better off smoking a joint. If you start using the patches, then you're going to be injecting nicotine into your system and you might well end up having to go through nicotine withdrawal, though it would probably take sleeping with a patch every night for several weeks to get to that point. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 5706789 United States 01/03/2013 10:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had very vivid dreams with a nicotine patch when I was trying to quit smoking with the patches. Most were very interesting and pretty cool. I would say 1 out of 20 dreams were nightmares. I started putting the patch on just before bed every night and started my patch cycle at night because I liked the vivid dreams. I had to put them on just before I was ready to collaps, because if I put them on too soon before bed they would keep me awake. I'm not normally a dreamer...or at least I don't remember them often, so maybe that's why I did it. It did fade after a while though, and I stopped having the vivid dreams...even with the latch on. |
