I can't imagine an agency so stupid as to not realize there is simply no way to debunk the fact that no lasting snow cover manifested in the north of the country this year, and nor did winter temperatures.

I am wondering just who they think they are fooling, people have there own eyes to see and anyone over 25 cannot be fooled by these tactics, leading me to believe their target may be the youngsters, with an attempt to create a lack of communication between the generations through ridicule that the children have no way to confirm is not justified. FACT: In Minnesota it is normal for lakes to be froze solidly enough to drive tractor trailers on this time of year, and the snow cover never melts from late November to early April

FACT: Most lakes in Minnesota have completely iced out as of now, and there was no snow lasting cover all winter at all Temperatures averaged in the 30's and 40's , where way below zero (Up to 50 below) to 15 F is NORMAL..

Isolated incidents of record breaking snowfall accompanying never before seen patterns of weather conditions falls exactly into the range of predictions range I made concerning weather extremes.

The fact that it melts away in matter of days is what makes this winter unusual, that and the fact that ice out in Minnesota and Northern New England occurred more than two months early and there never was a winter.

Important for you to realize, a single unusual snowstorm does not a winter make.

As I said, we had a foot of snow here on Christmas night in East Texas, but it melted within two days completely and we've had late spring conditions all winter. This snowstorm was very unusual, accompanied by some of the strangest weather conditions I have ever observed, including 75mph winds preceding it.

The snow was not of the ordinary type and consisted of a type of snowflake I have never seen, a needle like conglomeration of entertangled "flakes" . I lived in the ST Lawrence valley for 20 years where winter lasted for 5 months and rivers froze solid from the extended periods of below zero F weather conditions and I never once saw snowflakes that looked anything like these.

As I understand it from acquaintances who I am in touch with there, the rivers did not even freeze this year at all , lake Erie has no ice coverage, and there was no snow that remained on the ground for more than week.

The normal conditions there are for snow to continuously accumulate throughout the winter with occasional thaws making for a dense hard pack covered with powdery new fallen snow, and and average snow cover of around four feet at any given time from January onwards through March.

The ST Lawrence seaway USED to close in winter for three months, now the locks are open year around..Snowfalls of dry snow exceeding 3 ft WERE very common, and as far as winters with no lasting snow cover like now, forget it.

Mid February was actually just past the middle of winter, and snowfall was daily and cumulative throughout this period, settling and packing and usually accumulating from the wind in forests and around anything that blocked the wind, like buildings, fences or snowdrifts created by snowplows, many times to heights in excess of 20 ft.

It was common for people to attach long poles to their cars with orange or florescent green tennis balls on the end so other cars could see them over the snowdrifts as they approached an intersection.

In the 20 years I lived there in the upper St Lawrence valley, There was NEVER a time from late December to early April when there was not snow cover, PERIOD.

To claim we are having a normal winter anywhere in the US is an idiotic claim. A young child MIGHT believe it, and with the likes of Phil Plait seemingly aiming their brainwashing towards kids (his national geographic special was canceled after many complaints of his blatant homosexual/child oriented "superhero" theme) , it makes me wonder if the idea is to simply have reality of what is normal simply die off with the older people who remember.

Could you repost the link to Mexico Earthquake reporting?
Had to replace the old computer and lost alot of links by doing that.
Reading lately that the great lakes are as much as 30' low now. Some of that water is being stolen by Chines bladders, filled when they leave. Most is reflecting the ongoing increasing worldwide drought though.
Not going to be a good year for rain, again.

As for strange things happening, I can only assume it has to do with how the system tags and replies with multiple imbedded quotes. I have no control over that, nor the forum software itself.

All modern tracking software for telescopes is automatically updated or it doesn't work, or is that something you were unaware of?
