I guess this election would be like a real-life test for Americans, a way to show how much we pay attention. Quoting: JC 1217128 NoOO no Noooo No.. VOTE & COUNT VOTE = 2 separate/diff. issues. You vote..AND unless you count vote - it ain;t gonna matter who you vote. |

american_idiot User ID: 8852460 United States 02/08/2012 10:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Our country has been dumbed down at such a gradual pace that we don't even realize what's happened to us. We've been transformed into people who were once passionate about freedom and electing presidents who would honor their oath to protect and defend our constitution, to people who don't even know what our constitution stands for. We don't want to be free, we want to be told what to do and how to live our lives and, at the same time, to be taken care of from cradle to grave by a government that can't even afford it. So many people vote based on social issues thinking that somehow the economy will fix itself. It's ridiculous. They'd rather be assured that who ever gets the nomination will abuse their power by forcing the people to abide by laws that the government has no business enforcing (the patriot act, ndaa, banning gay marriage), than to be assured that we keep our freedoms and fix our economy. We're stupid as hell. |

He will be swept to the curb when the actual deligates are selected to be the running candidate. He is there right now only for the theatre of distraction. They need a good show to keep people interested in the political show. Just like Santorum winning three states yesterday. If they had a solid candidate picked already, who would still be hyped for the election in November. This will drag out and a show will be put on. Thats basically the entire news on the television. Where is the real new stories affecting our world? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 108458 United States 02/08/2012 11:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ron Paul is a disconnected-from-reality theorist. He would abolish all environmental regulations and withdraw from the world. He's idealistic like a communist, but he trusts corporations (as opposed to the local or federal authorities) to regulate industrial pollution on their own. (That won't happen of course, gold lust will take over as it always does and we would be living in a wasteland) After all the years of effort combating pollution, with RP we'd have air pollution like they have in China, and that's just what we'd see. Ron Paul would be a disaster. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 553712 It is clear you know nothing of Ron Paul. The truth is not electing Ron Paul will be a disaster. To vote for any of the others is to support evil. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 10389092 United States 02/08/2012 11:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ron sounds really good on rolling back the empire and subduing the military-industrial complex but he could never actually do that. And he stinks on so many issues, such as not recognizing the separation of church & state, having a horrible record on the environment, and so on. I would never vote for him because I refuse to vote republikan, especially for a dumbfuck republikan who rejects the theory of evolution. No, he needs to head on back to Texass. |

Nor do we need someone who will just up and die while talking on the phone in the Oval Office. We don't need a youngster, but we would at least like to have someone who is likely to be alive a year after the election. |

If he ever did get in, then i reckon if he caused too much of a stir then he'd go out the same way as JFK. Not so much as having hes head blown off but definately silenced! |

Burt Gummer User ID: 7702124 United States 02/08/2012 11:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm from the UK so maybe i havent grasped the full picture here. Quoting: Godnose 1657847 I've become very interested in the presidential race taking place on the other side of the pond. Mainly beacuse ultimately whatever happens in the US seems to affect the rest of the world. I have watched video after video, news coverage after news coverage and i can honestly say i can't find any reason for why any Mentally sane American citizen wouldn't support this guy. He's very honest and consistant and he's views are pretty much how a country should be run, ok there may be a couple i dont 100% agree with but compared to some of the shit some of the other candidates are coming out with, he's got it bang on! I'm also aware of how the mainstream news portrays him or ignores him for that matter!? Which makes me think that he is not the sort guy TPTB want leading the country. And that makes him an even more interesting candidate. I would like to see other peoples opinions on this. You know what I find ironic? You Brits....and most of Europe were drooling all over Obama in 2007. ...saying much the same thing you are now with Ron Paul....except it was Obama. So guess what?
