The prophecy of Elijah was a figurative reference to John the Baptist, as clearly indicated by YESHUA Himself. There will be no future appearance of literal Elijah until all believers are reunited with Christ Himself at His second advent and our resurrection.

For those who do not know, the Hebrew word TORAH simply means LAW. In other words, if I were an ancient Hebrew, I would call the laws of a heathen people their torah. In time, the word became a proper noun and referred primarily to the entire Law of Moses (the Old Covenant).

The problem is that I am not entirely sure what you're implying with your post. Are you implying we must follow the Law of Moses? The Bible clearly indicates that the Old Covenant was done away with, and that the New Covenant is eternal. Are you implying that the sacrifice of Christ was insufficient?

Galatians 3:19-25 Wherefore then [serveth] the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not [a mediator] of one, but God is one. [Is] the law then against the promises of God? Stranger, I strongly advise you stop listening to false teachers and actually study the Bible for yourself.

And Fear. There is no fear of God for most Christians. They think of God as some cuddly teddy bear. He is the Master of life and death. No fear of God means no wisdom. Period.

the Bible says as much as possible, as much as it is up to us, to live at peace with all men. the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self control

sure some have the gift of exhortation. even rebuke at times. but the Bible makes clear we are to LOVE all people -- including our enemies. we are to pray for those who spitefully use us. we are to turn the other cheek to those who smite us. we are to feed and clothe our enemies!!

a couple of the apostles asked Jesus if He wanted them to summon fire from heaven and destroy some ungodly people. Jesus told them they knew not what Spirit He was of. He made clear He came to save the world, not destroy it!

to the merciful, He shows mercy ;)

now abide these three, faith, hope and love -- but the greatest of these is love. and mercy triumphs over judgment

besides we are called to be witnesses -- not judges. we are told to judge not that we not be judged -- and warned that the judgment we impose will be measured against us. correction is fine -- but it must be done with gentleness, lest we ourselves become ensnared!!

finally, God is longsuffering toward us, not wishing any to perish. He so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. we are told to preach this good news to all nations -- tongues and tribes, to the ends of the earth, to the end of the age ;)

Can you tell me more about this? What exactly are they doing?

I'm asking because I recently discovered that I have been manipulated and betrayed by the people at my church that I loved and trusted the most -- so I'm trying to sort this out. I'm thinking they might fit into this category of fake Christians... proclaiming love and peace yet using people, gossiping, lying, manipulating, etc. for their own ends. I have pointed this out, and now they are angry. Imagine that.

Above all, God is our Father. If my earth parents had carried through with a fraction of their threats I wouldn't be here now to say this lol. Yes we are to fear God, Love God, fear Him, but don't forget He made the ultimate sacrifice for your soul. He isn't going to toss us aside that easily. It's a long story but I know this for a fact. Pray for those who hold themselves above the idea of a Creator. They have a long long way to fall.

Thank you. I re-read Mt. 23 with these folks in mind... spot on. I have downloaded the book you recommended. From the reviews, it looks like I will thoroughly enjoy it -- although it may just add fuel to my fire. This ties in well with my personal spiritual revolution that began about a year ago; thanks again for your response.

Philemon this verse says a lot about the condition of the church (as prophesied) in these last of the last days of the Church Age:

These words were true during the days when Jesus walked the earth and Today, these words are once again fulfilled in the visible Church just before the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to destroy out of the Whole earth all those things that offend, and set up His glorious Kingdom come down to us from Heaven (For wherever Christ is the Kingdom is - now hidden in these vessels of clay, soon to become a visible and literal Kingdom, filling the whole earth)

One thing that I will add here in addition to the Barnes Notes quote: The Pharisees were practicing an admixture of Torah and Babylonian mystery religion, adding to and taking away from the words of God:

They have sent in hundreds of corrupt dynamic equivalent, copyrighted Bibles, with words changed and passages missing, and then sent in the wolves in sheep clothing (secret society members, the same that called for Rome to kill Jesus) to reinterpret the Word of God to suit their agenda, ecumenical love fests with the Real Jesus standing outside of the door, knocking -because they have cast the Real Jesus out of their assemblies and worship the god of self, that Satan told them they could ascend to - being their own gods.

Where the Word of God is not, there is no Spirit and no conversion and no Truth. The covenant with Death is here - signed sealed and delivered. No one can be called a Christian if they are converted into a Lie. No matter how touchy feely tingly they feel inside.
