Major interruptions in Iran would cause an interruption with its oil exports. Most of its oil exports go to Russia and China, which means the U.S. would be screwing with Russia's and China's economy.

I highly doubt it. I believe the U.S. has made it clear to Russia that an alternate governing party will be needed once Iran's government is toppled. Russia is easily the #1 choice for the middle east. That may not be what the U.S. is planning, but it could be a possible "deal" the U.S. threw to Russia? Iran controlling the exports and naming the price on it could mean high prices for Russia so...eliminating the current holders of the power may be attractive to Russia!

I was just coming back in here to say that!

For those of you who aren't up on the story;

In ancient days, the King of Persia, which is now IRAN, had a contest for a new wife. Kind of like, "Top Concubine" where the winner got to be queen.

A little orphan girl name Esther won the crown. Unbeknowst to the King, Esther was a Jewish. Es's Uncle, Mordecai, had cautioned her to keep that bit a secret.

Uncle Mord took to keep watch over his young charge by camping out by the palace gates. This is how he came to over hear of a plot to kill the king which he passed on to his niece who warned her new hubby in time.

Now, one of the princes of the land was some stuck up guy named Haman who really thought that his crap smelled like roses. He was used to everyone bowing to him but Uncle Mord would not. This pissed off Ham no end. Find out that Mord was Jewish, he hatched a plot to kill not just Mord, but all the jewish people in Persia.

He got the king talked into the idea. Uncle Mordecai found out. He tore his garments and put dirt over his head. Esther saw this and was alarmed. She knew that a jewish only did this in a time of great distress. Uncle got word to her; we are in danger! Talk to the king!

Esther could not just up and go to the king; he had to order her into his presence. If she walked in there without his order, she could be killed.

So Esther fasted for 3 days and then took her life in her hands and went to the king. The king was delighted to see her and in his joy, offered her anything she might like.
All she wanted was for him to come to dinner...oh, and bring that prime minister of his, Haman.

She wined and dined the pair one night and asked them to come again the next. On the next night she laid it out on the line: that if Haman wanted to start killing Jewish people, start with her because she was one. The king went bonkers with rage and had the plot stopped and Haman hung on the same gallows he had built to hang Uncle Mord on.

So you see, this is why some of us think that Israel will strike on the feast of Purim.
