[link to www.bufordtradingpost.com] QOUTE: "If you've got a spare $100,000, you could potentially become the owner of a small Wyoming town that's set to be auctioned off next month by its sole resident. After more than 30 years of residing in the unincorporated community, town "mayor" Don Sammons says it's finally time to move on. "Don, 'The Mayor', is retiring after 20 wonderful years in his town," Sammons writes on the website for his business, the Buford Trading Post, a gas station and store. "This entire, income producing, town is for sale; the house, the Trading Post, the former school house, along with all the history of this very unique place." Buford, located between Cheyenne and Laramie, was first founded in the 1860s and was once home to an estimated 2,000 residents before the Transcontinental Railroad was rerouted." [link to news.yahoo.com] 100.000..thought mayors had to be elected? then again...1 person population? what if oil or natural gas was found? I know theres a good chance theirs oil. Ive been not to far from there in Colorado and there was lots of oil rig jobs. Colorado (Wyomings neighbor) has cheap natural gas too. Heard from one person cranking their furnace the whole winter and their natural gas bill was only 85 dollars. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12436389 I'm shocked no Yellowstone tards haven't chimed in. Shocked I tell you!! Good point there, Speaking of Yellowstone, I think its going to blow one day. But I think weve got more time other than Cali which is on the ring of fire earthquake zone. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7879694 Wish I had that kind of money laying around, it beats living next to a neighbor playing their music loud. lol Thanks for sharing. Thank you friend, I try very hard to find articles that would help a lot of people or at least get their cogs in their noggin spinning. =) My cogs have been spinning for a while now. I'd love to have an old fashioned community/village where everyone bonds together and helps one another. Community gardens, good friends, bartering. *sigh* I know it's all just a silly dream, but please don't ruin the moment. :) |

Captain Spaulding User ID: 12455124 United States 03/13/2012 11:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Modern State Of Israel To Relocate To Scottsdale Area In 2012 Quoting: 719 1953719 The modern state of Israel which was formed in 1948 and has a population of approximately 7.7 million people has been contemplating moving for quite some time. “The weather is fine but when all your neighbors hate you and they occasionally throw bombs at you, it gets a little tiring,” said local resident Moishe Kantor. Israel has been looking for something suitable for quite some time and given the depressed real estate prices in the U.S., the state has found property they like in the Arizona desert. “It is a real deal that is hard for us to pass up,” said the Israel press office. “Plus there are no suicide bombers.” Arizona is welcoming the jewish people with open arms and said another 8mm people or so should fill up about half of the available foreclosed homes around the Phoenix and Scottsdale area. It seems like a match made in heaven said Phoenix Mayor, Frank Pitts. “We think them Israelites are smart people so it should be fun to have them around, plus every immigrant who is not a Mexican is a good thing for us,” said the Mayor. Looks like Wyoming was too cold , looks like Phoenix will be home to the "New Israel" ! Thats not wise ! No water, Aquifers will dry up soon. Bad choice. Plus it gets too hot Have you ever picked up a Phoenix phone book? pages and pages of escort and prostitution ads. Phoenix is your lesser known , sex industry city. I wasnt impressed, I wouldnt live there if I was given a million dollars They will run out of water soon and those cities will be ghost towns. You're absolutely right. For family reasons I've been here for a year and a half. I wouldn't wish the place on my worst enemy. Freakin' HOT for months on end. You get second degree burns from just touching your car in the summer. And the "dry heat" thing is BS. When it's 120 for months, it's 120! And the monsoon season comes in for a couple of those months and it's just awful. Nothing but cactus and BORING scenery. A few nice people, but out of the question for a lot of reasons. |

So .....all we need is 100 people with $1000 ? Can 100 people live on 10 acres, and could we all get along ? Maybe we could build "Earthship" type homes? [link to www.youtube.com] TRINITY WYOMING That would sound awesome ! If we had degreed teachers and medical staff, and a few farmers and ranchers, Id consider going. Why would you want publicly educated degreed teachers. People that care can do a much better job by just setting up a homescooling mini-school exchange. Trust me. I did it with two kids with learning disabilities, and now one is an electrician and the other a physics major going for doctorate. They both swear they had a much better education than their peers, and they also actually studied the constitution, in depth. |

I was through Cheyenne, once, too. Back then it had 80k people. I was so thrown off, being from CA, where my city had 300k and this was their capital city. I could retire but I'm waiting for Obamacare to become active, so I get free health care (gagging at the thought..nothing is free) |

What you just said here is the one thing I have against the internet. Probably 95% of it is just bullshit that is taken as gospel by those who do not know a damn thing, haven't been anywhere or done anything.............. and then they repeat it. And it continues to get repeated. There is a distinct lack of factual knowledge and it requires a lot of searching to actually find it and vet it. This site is filled with dorks who just blather away as if they know what they are talking about and constantly talk down and over those who post that reveal they know what they are talking about to those who can pick up on it. If it was not for the news that others find and post I would not bother with this site because of the total lack of maturity and civility. |

I doubt you will buy the town for anything near $100,000. I could be wrong, but I think he will hold out for a lot more money. A big wind generator right there would be great, it is always windy up there. In Wyoming the power company is required to buy your excess energy. For those of you thinking about oil, the mineral rights in Wyoming are mostly owned by the government and the UP railroad. Wyoming is a great place for GLPers. There are lots of preppers here already. If you are politically conservative Wyoming is a great place to live and raise kids. If you are a libtard, Wyoming can be a very hard place. In Wyoming, we work hard and we play hard. If that sounds like you, this could be a chance to move up to God's country. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
