Re: The hang out...
Wow - we just got back from picking up the jeep and stopped at Wally World on the way home. Thank God I rushed my husband out of the store. There were 3 black guys (my county is 99 % white) who had pulled their car along side the jeep and had both their car doors open on the side next to the jeep - just getting ready to make a play for it, hubby said. He says they open the doors to block the view while they bust in. Damn thing is a thief magnet, I see...luckily I bought it mainly for toolin' around the ranch - yikes! It's gonna get a lot worse ...

Put a kill switch in it. Quite a few types out there, they are cheap cheap. Pros will get past them but the normal guy can’t, either way it takes time they do not have. Best one is the one that lets the car start and run for 3 min and unless you hit the button it then dies. Makes the thief think something is wrong with the car rather than think it is a kill switch.

Ok for me this made my day…look who posted to my thread near the bottom as an AC.

You never know who reads your stuff on GLP and this is a perfect example.

Look at the posting dates also…He has seen my real name but does not know me as Chrit.

Really hoping the movie gets picked up for full distribution on the big screen.

Thread: Looking for a vid that is out there but I can't find a link anywhere, Charlie Victor Romeo is the name. "updated"

Re: The hang out...
An American to be proud off, right here.

Matt Hughes, UFC Hall of Famer, and one of the most dominant welterweights ever, retired.

UFC President Dana White announced that Hughes' competitive career has come to a close, as he has officially retired and moved to a new position within the UFC.

The welterweight legend finishes his career with a 45-9 record, including 17 knockouts and 18 submissions. Though his career ended with two consecutive knockout losses, it's the dominating fighter of the early days of his career that we will remember.

Hughes retires with the most wins in UFC history (18), third in UFC title bouts wins (nine), second in fights in the UFC (25), tied for third in most consecutive UFC title defense (five) and almost four hours of total time inside the Octagon (three hours and 43 minutes)—numbers that will ultimately make Hughes a member of the UFC Hall of Fame.

While Hughes may be retiring from fighting, he won't be leaving the UFC altogether. He will move to a new position with the promotion: Vice President of Athletic Development and Government Relations.

We had a 90th birthday celebration for my mother yesterday, at her home ! It was AWESOME !!! Most of her descendants came, along with their spouses/significant others. I have a group picture, but I have no idea how to post it here. The only people missing in this photo, are 3 grandchildren and 2 of their spouses(out of state), my son-in-law who had to work, and 3 great grandchildren(out of state).
I made the deviled eggs and the green bean casserole !
What a party !!! There were friends who showed up too. The house was PACKED !!!

Re: The hang out...
Speaking of prayers, please pray for little Ethan. For those of you who don't know, a hostage situation is taking place in my local area. I am about 10 miles (if that) from ground zero.

Tuesday afternoon around 3:45, a man with a gun got onto a school bus. He told the bus driver he needed to take two children. The bus driver refused, and was shot to death. All of the children managed to get off the bus except for one child, five year old Ethan. Ehtan was so scared he fainted, which allowed the man to grab him.

The man took Ethan into a bunker he made eight feet under the ground. Authorities were on the scene in minutes. He told them if they opened the door to the bunker, he would kill Ethan.

SWAT teams, FBI agents, and negotiators were called to the scene. They have been there ever since, and will not leave until he is released.. The sheriff has refused to leave the scene as well. The child has now been held hostage for approximately fifty-six hours.

Neighbors were interviewed about the shooter. He is a Vietnam war veteran, and is said to be very anti-government. He was supposed to appear in court yesterday for menacing charges. Neighbors said he was very frightening, and that they avoided him. He would wave his gun at people for coming in his yard, and beat one of their dogs to death. He told some of them about the bunker, and they would hear him digging the hole at night, with a flaslight and a gun.

Police have been very hush hush about things. They will not give details for Ethan's safety, which I totally understand. They did say, however, that the suspect has allowed Ethan to have food, water, and his medication. He is reportedly autistic.

I just cannot tell you how much this has affected our local area. It's all anyone thinks about. We are so worried about this little boy. I keep thinking, "What if it was my daughter?" It literally makes me sick to my stomach when I think about it.

This situation is unique because he's in an underground bunker. There's no way for authorities to get to Ethan without opening the door, which they can't do because he said he'd kill Ethan.

The bus driver, Chuck Poland, is a hero for protecting the kids on the bus, and his funeral will be held Sunday. His family is going to make a statement tomorrow. If it had not been for Mr. Poland's courage, more children would have been taken.

I can't imagine what Ehtan's parents are going through. Eveyrtime I hold my daughter, or paly with her, I just tear up because I think of that sweet little boy alone and scared to death.

This situation needs our prayers. Please, please pray for Ethan's safe release. It's going to take a miracle of God, because this man is not cooperating with negotiators. God, be with this little boy, his family ,and the family of Chuck Poland. hf
