India plans to test launch ballistic missile Agni-5 intercontinental can attack the entire Chinese territory.

According to Press Trust of India (India), the first test launch of the long-range ballistic missile Agni-5 will be expected to perform on 18-4. Currently, once the process of preparing for this test on Wheeler Island in the Bay of Bengal has been completed..

.Agni-5 missile is a three-storey, 17m long, weighs 50 tons, 2m in diameter and use solid explosives, capable of carrying nuclear warheads weighing up to 1.1 tons.

....If successful, India will place 70% of Europe and many other areas of the world fit into their range.

In November last year, DRDO had successfully test fired the 3,500 km range Agni-4 missile giving muscle to India's deterrent capability against the military adversaries.

DRDO has also placed necessary equipments to collect data on the trajectory and flight of the missile and other necessary data which will be studied further for its future development.

It seems the cold war is getting hot and now has a few new players.

Destabilizing the region isn't in India's benefit. In any real war they would be destroyed by China. They have even started to talk to Pakistan again. Given that they could talk to Pakistan, china would in turn back off them. A missile test would only anger the Chinese and make the Pakistanis back out of talks. This is a lose, lose situation and doesn't make any sense. considering India has more than a capable armed force that can deal with Pakistan.

Defence minister AK Antony is expected to be present for the launch.

Official sources said that the missile will be test-fired over the full-range of 5,000 km and will be monitored by DRDO scientists from launch to the point of impact in order to study its accuracy.

The three stage solid fuelled missile would be put into test for the first time with some advance and indigenous technology with the support of a canisterised mobile launcher. It can withstand the 5000 degree centigrade temperatures when re-entering the earth's atmosphere.

Yeah but that's ok, when India (who like North Korea is also a non-signatory of the nuclear accords) tests a long-range ICBM it's "acceptable", whereas when North Korea does it, it's "unacceptable".

A classic case-in-point of U.N double-standards.
