I feel that anything that causes us to become heavily focused in one area of physicality and not balanced out is harmful. Having a beer or two is fine....black-out drinking is harmful. Eating a delicious meal is fine......overeating and gluttony is harmful. There are things we do that harm others.....and then there are things we do that harm ourselves. I read something a few months ago written by some guy about forty years ago. He said that our bodies are supposed to be our servants. But that most of society serves their bodies...like cherished pets.....It made a lot of sense to me. Porn encourages us to focus on only one aspect of our humanity. And it is such a powerful draw to us physical, fleshly creatures. But we are - or should be - so much more as humans than what porn dictates. Just my opinion on it. |
