Re: Is there anyone in Sydney CBD Aust. that would help me look for my son? UPDATE2
I'm on my way to Sydney tonight to look for my 19yr old son who has schizophrenia & has been without his medication for over 2 weeks (doctor thought the monthly injection was the drug working so weaned him off the other).
He was on the missing persons list but police found him 2 days ago in Pitt St dressed in only his underwear & a paper DNA suit that a previous police officer had given him to wear.
They had called the ambulance to assess him but they said he was ok to go (& took him off the missing persons register) .
The police took him to a local drop in center to get some clothes a blanket & something to eat & then let him walk.
My son has been hospitalised on & off for 6 months out of the last 9 months & is a danger to himself & possibly others without medication.
I'll be in Sydney by myself & it scares the crap out of me.

IM IN SYDNEY , Have car and willing to help - I know all over Sydney. Please email me [email protected] I'm near central and understand mental illness, willing to help. Have room to put you up to.

You'd be surprised at the risks people are willing to take to save their children.
And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die.

Thanks People... Sometimes you should trust people - she has my phone number where I work and all, what happened to "love thy neighbour" I have been through similar and have offered my help, this woman has asked if any Sydney siders could help and I have offered my help, I have a car and know where the homeless hang out. I'd like to think that in my hour of need that total strangers would offer help, sadly though most won't. This is what is wrong with society, when someone needs help "most"people look the other way. I don't - never have never will.

G'day OP

I'm in Sydney. I'd suggest your first call is to the Salvo Care Line (1300 36 36 22). Ask them for a list and phone numbers of the mens homeless shelters in Sydney. Call each of them and give a description of your son and his medical issues. Also tell the Care Line staff about your son - he may call them, especially if he has contact with a street welfare worker - they always refer them to the salvos.

Most homeless shelters have a welfare officer who may look out for your son.

Also ensure the police and ambulance services are aware of your son's condition.

Good luck.

if u r serious , then u should really try places like Mathew Talbot Hostel, mission beat sydney or the salvation army oasis centre , as the above mentioned places deal primarily with homeless men with mental illness, if anyone can assist, they will
Also try hospitals such as St vincents

You don't know who you are speaking to, so don't make assumptions.

Again, what POSSIBLE reason is there for her to stipulate she needs someone to walk with her at night on the streets of homeless areas, when there is ample daylight to cover such areas?

And according to her first post, she knows the police had him and let him go. Are the police now searching for him?

Why would she be asking total strangers for help instead of the proper authorities there in Sydney? There are many places she could call on, most notably, the police.

Does he have a mobile? I plan to track my kids every move when they get older. I will be just like the CIA. Covert Surveillance in the name of good. In this day and age parents should know where when and what our children are up too. At least until a certain age. Like 21.

They won't know I am tracking them. I am very heavy into electronic surveillance.

Good luck with Finding your son. My heart bleeds for you. Mine are only 4,6 and 8 . 2 boys and a girl. And I worry about them In our future society. The government and police won't care what my children are up too. But I do.

I have also asked a couple of additional questions about this story. No idea why she would be asking strangers for such assistance, when she could (SHOULD) turn to the police and various authorities for such a search.

homeless congregate around eddy avenue just outside the country terminals of central station, also across from the station is belmore park, alot of homeless in there 2.
Then you have Hyde park around st james station, also in the hyde park precint alot of homeless near st marys cathedral.
doubt hes up the cross end or near oxford st, as it has beome trendy and the homeless are sent on there way, the same as in the cbd.
So your best bet would be the above places in the inner city near central in the surry Hills area.
best thing is that your son has buddied up with some other homeless blokes, this way he will be easier 2 find than if hes alone and better for his safety.
The streets are a cold hard place and you dont wanna be just going upto homeless people at night and asking them questions.

Thank you.

I have also asked a couple of additional questions about this story. No idea why she would be asking strangers for such assistance, when she could (SHOULD) turn to the police and various authorities for such a search.
