The farmer smiled. 3 days later the Farmers horse returned and with it it brought 10 wild horses with it. Upon hearing this the villagers came out to see the farmer. So good to here about your fortune! You were right! Now you can keep the best and sell the rest to buy grain. Your work Decreased by 100 fold. The old farmer looked at the . How do you know this is fortune? They mocked him and shook their heads and laughed. Your happy when you should be sad, your sad when you are happy! The farmer again smiled. 3 days later while breaking one of the wild horses the farmers only son fell off and broke his leg. Upon hearing this, the villagers came out to see the farmer. The local war chief came to every village to take every able body young man off to defend the territory from the invading hoards. The farmers son was the only young man to not go because he was unable to stand to fight. 4 months later news came back to the village that the hoards were defeated but no men from the village or surrounding areas survived. All died in battle. Upon hearing this the villagers came out to see the farmer. Torn the grief, good to here about your fortune! Again, You were right! The old farmer looked at the villagers And smiled. Indeed! This is good fortune! Please, go and come back, present your gifts and daughters to my son so that you may have grand children.
