One of the reasons we are fat is because our cities are designed to segregate us and turn us into mindless drones. Instead of taking a 10 minute walk home from work we drive 40 minutes in traffic and hell, might as well pick up a coca-cola from the grocery store on the way home because traffic is gonna suck and the caffeine calms ya down right. So many fucking cards that all fell into place that it's pretty fucking obvious that what happened to the American People was done on purpose. Think about this. If one lives on the far eastern Suburbs of Los Angeles and his Aunt lives on the far Western Suburbs of Los Angeles. They live 90 miles apart. That is an hour and a half drive on a day with no traffic. On most days that is a 3 hour drive. So even though they both still live in "LA" they might only see each other every 3 months or even worse. TPTB destroyed our communities and put us out in the suburbs. They off shored our industry and gave us a credit card to make up for the lost GDP. Get get to consume like we are really making shit and we aren't. I hate to see people blame Obama for this. He is most definitely part of the problem but don't think by voting for the other guy that it's going to change. It' not. The collapse of the American empire was orchestrated by Communist infiltrators on both sides. And by polarizing our politics. The democrats succeeded in pushing social agendas while the Republicans lowered the taxes for the very people that outsourced all of our jobs. See they are both in on it. Lowering the taxes on CEO's are not going to make the CEO's bring back the manufacturing jobs. Why not just abolish corporate taxes in the US. The jobs still wouldn't come back. We went to Europe not long a go. The food in France puts American food to shame. And I'm not talking about the high-falutin' gourmet stuff, I'm talking about a 2 Euro chicken sandwich from the grocery store, or even what's available at a McDonald's. They are terrific cooks, don't get me wrong, but it's the quality of the food they eat, the raw materials, the ingredients. They do not eat poop. They do not accept a week old sandwich on slimy bread loaded with preservatives. The things is, you can never get enough of what you don't really want. What I mean is, eating the real thing, even though the portions were smaller all over Europe, it was satisfying. I find myself eating larger portions of poor quality food. The good stuff fills you up with less. What they also have, and what the US used to be filled with, are cities built to human scale made for walking. We can solve some of our energy and health issues with architecture - rebuild cities so they are made for people to walk them. Finally, personal responsibility. I mean the real thing, not the fake political slogan. A corporation is a legal fiction. It's a made-up concept, and a dangerous one, because people taking actions under a corporate shield can hide behind it. Jefferson was rightly concerned with corporate structures and banking institutions. No more corporations and no more trusts. |

If we exercised every day we can bump it up to 2800 calories/day. Still well less than we are eating. All this BS about certain types of Calories making you fat is BS. A calorie is a calorie and any extra calories turn to fat. Carbs do not make you fat. The japanese eat 70-80% carbs and are lean. Americans Eat less than 50% of our diet from carbs and are fat. Which diet should you follow. Judge by results and what you see actually working for people. Low carb diets dehydrate you and turn your body acidic which leads to cancer. The dehydration leads to water weight loss and the fact that you end up eating so much meat ultimately slows down your digestive tract which makes you eat less. It might work. But it's not healthy and in the long run will kill you. The best and healthiest way to eat is ultimately just like the Japanese. Lots of rice and fruit and maybe a quarter lb of fish/meat per day. 70-80% Carbs, 10-15% Protein, and 10-15% fat. It's impossible to exercise with a gut full of meat. So that's obviously not healthy to do all the time. Just who the hell is eating that many calories per day? I don't know anyone who eats like that.
