Not sure of the equivalency between the Pound and the Dollar, but I was shopping at Safeway the other day and Kerrygold was $4.99 (might as well say $5.00). Regular butter ranges from $2.50 to $3.99.

most supermarket butter has oil added to make it spreadable and profitable

lidl depresses me. i always feel like slitting my wrists when i go there. so depressing. they used to force you to use product boxes to carry around your shopping, now they have baskets, surely soon enough every lidl will implode and they will be no more.

ours is a backwards lidl, you still have to dump the produce out of its box and carry the box about with you.Nothing so civilised as baskets! Although you do have to have a quid for a trolley if you want to by more than fits in a box.

i place aldis as slightly more civilised.It carries more "luxury lines" eg smoked ham, four birds in a mold or whatever that thing is called.

I like Baldis and btwn Spasda and Monginsons these are the supermarkets I use.

Baldis is good for olive oil, black and white pepper, iodines salt, family size lasagne and a few other things.

I dont like Flidals but Ive worked out that if there was a terrorist attack on our food, Flidals is definately the best supermarket to shop in as theyre not going to poision their own food supplys lol

im going to lidl to buy €10 worth of food.
