Complains that it's insolvent, and in the same breath collects a check every month and adds it to his MILLIONS already in the bank.

What a turd this guy has turned out to be.

He also said he utilizes the federal reserve banking system and other forms of Govt like medicare which he opposes and would like to see the free market system take over control of.

So if yourally want to know the truth read the entire article or watch it on u tube.

He said he has been paying into the sytem for years, belives the system is broke and needs to be fixed.

Nope, OP loves being a slave.

But anyway, as for his stance on SS, he has said it needs to be REFORMED so that the money we have already promised soo many people, will be there when the time comes.

So actually since the government has promised him this money, it is not hypocritical at all.

Good try tho.

Re: Ron Paul Admits He's On Social Security, Even Though He Believes It's Unconstitutional
Instead of paying 7% of one’s income (including employers contribution) into Social Security and hoping to get back $1,200 per month, an average man (or woman) could view private option as an attractive alternative.

He could invest say $200 per month in a mutual fund over 45 years at a conservative 8% per year return and have more than $1 million dollar saved.

Beginning at age 65, this $1 million (invested at just 4% return) could pay him an income of $3,500 per month for 35 years (assumes he lives to be 100!) and he would still have more than $1 million to leave his heirs.

That beats Social Security.

Ron Paul is using S.S. because he paid into it! He wants the younger generation to be able to opt out because by the time it's our turn to collect, there won't be jack shit left.

Re: Ron Paul Admits He's On Social Security, Even Though He Believes It's Unconstitutional
well, he paid in, so he deserves to get his money back ... what he is complaining about is how it was "invested" ... if it had been invested in gold ... there wouldn't be a SS issue right now, but they invested it in the Stock Market and use it to manipulate it ... and that's what RP wants to get rid of - that system, where we loan out that money and loose money doing it ...

I worked for forty years and put into that system ... my return after 40 yrs is $20 a day ( you try living on that) ... the system SUX - of course RP wants to get rid of it ... it is a FAILED SYSTEM

but in the mean time, he wants something back on his investment

you are an ass hole just looking for some way to discredit RP - well this ain't it ... and apparently know nothing about the current SS system ... if it wasn't Mandetory NO ONE would participate ... because most people don't even get back what they put into it ... RP isn't "against" SS, he is against what the SS system does with OUR hard earned (stolen) money.

which makes him - way more concerned about the AVERAGE AMERICAN CITIZEN than the rest of the Millionaire Club members of Congress

did you agree to pay into SSI?

I didnt but yet it is deducted from my paycheck each pay period. Having my own option to invest that same amount of money into a fund that I can see and manage would be more desireable.

So he is stupid for not understanding and misquoting....and a troll for TRYING to use those misquotes and half truths to make RP look bad.

He is just getting back the money that the government took from him . He has said if he was younger he would jump at the chance to opt out. He was never given the opportunity to opt out. The government took HIS money for at least 60 years. I'm sure he will never get all of it back.

Re: Ron Paul Admits He's On Social Security, Even Though He Believes It's Unconstitutional
If you invested money in a program, whether it was Law or not, you expect something in return, especially after they hold your money and invest it ... the SS - by law - is not allowed to loan that money out ... but they do... at extremely low interest rates to the bankers, who actually DO make money on it ...

at a rate of $50 a week, for 40 years, I have invested well over 100K into the SS system ... they know I won't live another 40 years ... so even if they figure I will live 20 more they should be giving me back TWICE as much as I put in, PLUS INTEREST accrued over 40 years ... at the current interest rate annually - my investment was over A MILLION BUCKS - which comes out to around 65K A YEAR for the next 20 years - but I don't even see 10K a year

how many people would invest in a program that steals your money?
