Using government to force companies to label GMO's isn't very Libertarian at all. You obviously don't agree with the free market values that Ron Paul does...or Rand for that matter.

I do not equate food labeling of ingredience with taking of someones rights. And it would appear to fit the commerce clause.

Good observation, and a correct one. There is no problem with this stance, so long as companies remain free to label their products "non-gmo". The market will then speak. This is something the Paultards haven't yet figured out.

There's a difference between being told what to do and companies hiding what is in the food we eat.

Course. This is the only argument to be made. If you want Liberty it comes at a cost. Government WILL NEVER save you. You can only save yourself. Inform yourself what companies have non-GMO's and only eat that. If you are obviously healthier for eating non-GMO's others will follow your example. If you are into volunteerism you can help to inform others of the choice you made and if your argument is good enough maybe just maybe you might be able to save them from GMO's too.

By that logic, I guess "free market values" means we don't need government to tell big agriculture that they can't secretly spray lettuce with DDT to maximize their crop yield and profits, right?

Uh what? You do realize that the free market works both ways right? All a company has to do is offer a delicious non-GMO alternative and the guys with the GMO stuff will lose the game. The only reason GMO food is showing up in the first place is because of government favors for Monsanto. The free market is literally the only thing that can stop GMO's.

No one is stopping you from testing the foods yourself or finding a credible person or group that can.
