If you represent a states ability to make money - commercial farming, you don't do it pissing into the wind. At least he didn't give away half the fishing rights to the Bering Sea with the little Obama gift to Russia.

One of the only valid reasons for the existence of a government AT ALL in the Libertarian view is to protect the people. Labeling GMOs protects people in a way that is very difficult to do on an individual basis. I TRY not to eat GMOs and have researched what companies do and do not use them and I buy organic whenever possible, but it's rare for people to go to such great lengths to protect themselves. It would be much better for the population in general if they could EASILY know if a product contais DANGEROUS ingredients. Then they have a CHOICE which is very Libertarian. I don't understand why a Libertarian would have a problem with this, once they have stopped having a knee-jerk reaction.

Looks like he may be pulling a Ronald Reagan, but it didn't take a bullet to make him behave, they either offered him stuff or threatened him, or a combination of both, but Reagan just tried to stay out of their way and of course was not actively voting for rogue legislation. He actually did some limited good while in office, although there were some negative operations going on that he was not responsible for, maybe Rand thinks he can deal with them and do some limited good in office as president. Dr. Ron Paul knows you can't cut deals with these snakes and expect to come out ahead, not if you have any morals about you. Rand should have told them after they offered their little basket of proverbial silver to him, "O thou child of hell, why tempt ye me? Knowest thou that the righteous yieldeth to no such temptations?"

state`s ability to make money at the expense of it`s citizens health is not a good tradeoff...

But of course that is of no concern to those getting money for GMO production. That would be bad business, right? As long as the fat cats get wealthier and the charts go up for the fiscal year, that's all that matters, right? Who cares about the devastating fallout the process of modifying genetics has on life, that's for future generations to worry about...right???

There is a grave injustice going on here, I don't care what political party you decide to associate yourself with, but don't ignore the violation of human rights, and the violation of nature itself.
