Violent Police Brutality Caught on Police Car Camera

Something else about this that bothers me is how it would not have even been legal for someone to tape this, but fortunately it was on the officers own squad car camera.

I understand protecting the police and their families and why many states do not let them be photographed or taped, but at the same time I believe it is necessary. Photographing them will still take place by the people who have malicious intent towards them, these laws just prevent the citizens from getting evidence against the dirty ones.

It is kind of like gun laws. Violent crimes sky rockets when guns are banned. The only guns that get banned are the legal ones by law abiding citizens. The illegal ones and the criminals still have them. The logic is sooo flawed.

WOW!!! I live about .5hr away from Towanda on rt6 and I can't believe I haven't heard about this. I'm definetely staying away from Towanda for a while that's for sure. I hope with all that is in me that something is done about this to those cops. The police around here need a wake up call to the fact that just because we live in a rural area does not mean that they can get away with whatever they want!!

I couldn't beleive I had not heard of it either. It happened over 2 years ago. I just heard about it several days ago. I think it is just now finally getting out because people are finally helping the poor guy who is STILL in Bradford County Jail.

Yeah it really is a small world isn't it lol. Do you know of any local groups that are helping this guy out? I've been at the mercy of the PA state police before, and I know what a horrible place it is to be in, so if I could, I would like to help this guy out any way I can!!

The cops seem to have swooped down on this guy like a Nazi submarine wolf pack. That they acted like sadistic thugs is indisputable. Of course Leone should have pulled over as is required by state law for any emergency vehichle in your lane, and did in fact put him in violation. Also the police, some of whom require minimal provocation, regarded his actions as an affront and disrespect for their authority.

Unfortunately I have been as well. I do not know of any groups or organizations doing anything about this. I know some people in Towanda though and am trying to figure some shit out. I will let you know via this thread when I find anything out. I am trying to spread this video in the area though to get some locals riled up.

That would be great, I would love to help any way I can!! Personally I think this deserves some type of protest in front of the Towanda SP barracks, or at least something of the nature. They need to know the locals know, and won't stand for it. I will definitely be showing this video to anyone that I can!!!

Maybe a lawyer will take the case for a cut of the settlement if the guy doesn't have money for legal fees. Doesn't look like he does since he used a public defender. Public defenders in my county are known to work with the prosecutors. If he could have hired a "real lawyer" he might have stayed out of jail or gotten off easier.

The whole thing is sick. It's a wonder he lived through it. He looks very slight of build in the video. Poor guy!

I hope he gets the meanest, nastiness, SOB, bulldog of a lawyer he can find.

which I'm grateful that some local media is getting the word out on the story. Those cops deserve every bit of what's hopefully coming to them. I still would love to see a mass of locals show up to the TSP barracks and stage a protest. This kind of thing is deplorable and needs the light of day shone directly upon it for all to see!!

My husband is a police officer, and after watching the video, he agrees that those officers need to be tried and jailed. They are a sorry excuse of human beings, much less law enforcement officers.
No one is above the law, not even those who enforce it.

And for the record, there are more officers that go into the line of work for the right reasons, wanting to make a difference and positive impact on the community, than there are asshole, power hungry cops.

Yea, there is a federal suit already on the way and hopefully a civil will follow. There are a few links to local newspapers about this on pg 1.

Maybe, but I have not come across it yet, sorry.

The beating is only a small part of how they have continually screwed this guy and his rights over, that is why it is so long.

For example, they "lost" his paperwork to be released a few times, and a bunch of other shit. The guy is still locked up!

I would recommend at least watching it and fast forwarding through some parts to see what you want to see. That is what I did the first couple of times, then I had to go back and watch the entire thing because it is so crazy.

UPDATE!!!

There is a protest at the Bradford County Courthouse tomorrow from 7 AM - 7 PM.

I saw one of my buddies today who is a lawyer in the area and he gave me some info.

So all the the people on here who were talking shit saying the guy deserved it due to the hit and run or whatever are complete ASSHOLES. He was not in the hit and run, they caught the wrong guy. That is why the guy never pulled over, said he never did anything wrong, because he did not. Now I understand he should have have drove around at 30 mph for 34 minutes, but still, the dickhead cops caught, beat, and put the wrong guy in prison where he still remains to this day.

The other thing he told me has to do with the statute of limitations the guy in jail has to file his cases. Hopefully the federal suit was filed in time as well as a civil suit, because the statute of limitations ended in March after 2 years.

They guy was broke and in jail though, so he did not have money to hire a civil lawyer, but hopefully he had gotten one somehow before time ran up, because he will definitely get a bunch of money.

Also hopefully as this video spreads the FBI does an investigation since they state police have not done an internal one yet.

So anyways, to my neighbor to the north and anyone else close by, there is a protest all day tomorrow at the Bradford County Courthouse. Hopefully a bunch of people show up and get this thing blown up.,

And I really hope some civil lawyer was able to take the case and file it before the statute of limitations ended.

Hopefully I will be able to change the time of my PT appointment tomorrow so I can go with a bunch of my friends who are going. I'll tape on the phone if I go.
