Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 19018652 United States 07/05/2012 02:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have always been a spacetard w/telescopes. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9231012 One thing I learned about telescopes is when your trying to gather backers and funds to make something expensive like the Hubble you try to make everyone believe that the telescope "sees" deep into space, past light years, past eons of time back into the beginning of time even. When in reality, space is much closer than they want you to believe. Ie@ your "Objects in mirror." statement. You see a telescope gather light exactly like the human eye. Neither a telescope or the human eye can see a single candle flame at 4 miles away for instance. The only thing a telescope can do is gather the light better than the human eye can. So yes, no matter what those scientist or Vatican try to tell you, items in space really are much closer than it appears. and...about the light bending stuff, yea it's real but I don't see how they could possibly not figure it in earlier, my goodness that is how they have been telling if things like stars are drifting away or drifting towards us. this too is what I have believed. hence, someone is shovelling an awful lot of horse-pucky on various facets of what they are really looking at so, I do not believe these a-h's. I 'do' believe they've known this damned thing was coming since 1947, and I 'do' believe - based on all my research - that the damned Vatican sat on this crap since 1932 until 1947 when the U.S. government finally opened their Program at MIT from where their chief astrophysicist tookover. He died not long ago, just 'this year'. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19151949 boy. weren't those the days. takes me back to where I'd rather be, but my guy in D.C. says there is something going on in Washington where his OCIWH contacts indicate they can no longer converse anywhere near this. i'm like a pursuit-fixated rabid dog with a big bone who ain't gonna drop it - even if it kills me, which btw I die in October anyway. I've nothing to lose so, they can nail me any time 'cause I don't much give a rat's ass. Oh. and they 'will' most certainly come. this I know. - Re |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 19018652 United States 07/05/2012 02:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you would read the article you would realize it's 450 light years away. If the effect were to travel toward earth it would take 450 years. I'm not concerned about the point of origin of the dust in that region, however I'm more concerned to see if one side or the other of that streaming GRB from the accretion disk was responsible for zapping that dust rock particle cloud. I need to determine which side ( the one aimed North or South ) was even responsible for the dissipation. Could be neither, but that 'still' does not eliminate the damned GRB still coming because the jet is travelling 6 times faster than light itself. thanks. - RE |

There are plenty of GRBs, however only one ( 1 ) like Cen-A. thanks. - RE Thread: ************* BLAZAR IS COMING!!!!!!!!*********%$25@%@%@%**************************8 |

If the effect were to travel toward earth it would take 450 years. OP says its travelling at 6 times light speed , so do the math . If first discovered in 1938 , 74 years ago and its 450 light years away travelling 6 times faster than light ; so 450 / 6 = 75 . Should be here real soon. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 9231012 United States 07/05/2012 03:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's me the startard that posted before. Going on the assumption that the GRB from 1RXH J132519.8-430312 "appears" to be traveling at 6x, combined with the fact that we now see no dust where there was dust shortly before, combined with the possible truth that things are closer than they appear and not knowing the TeV level of the cloud or the final impact effects of said cloud added to this the fact that your math keeps shifting on you and messing your final reports up. I would go out on a limb and say that, from our advantage point in space, this thing may have already theoretically passed right by us, simply like protons flow through us and our planet everyday. With the dust cloud mysteriously gone, this is what I thought of. If we can't see it it must be behind us already? Just theorizing here before bed. |

Also, if RED SHIFT is a function of 'tired light, over long timescale' then what's the point of all this Big Bang nonsense anyway? :) |

We've got a problem here!" Quoting: RE God, I hate doing even more research than I'm already plagued with, however 'if' this cloud was totally zapped by the Cen-A GRB, I won't need to calculate its arrival time within 1,000 lightyears from Earth. Hence, the "when" will become moot with extinction topsise sooner than even my preliminary finding. will advise, if still alive. Thank you! - RE Reasearch this. Gamma Rays are a form of light and as such travel at that speed. We only see the distant past as the light from what happend millenia ago reaches our optics. We are not "waiting" for anything. We are living in the moment of the past present and future. Add it to your findings. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18790221 New Zealand 07/05/2012 04:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well duh, of course. The trick to the tail is that the pink elephant lives on, the species survives thanks to the quick thinking village idiot who wrote a note placed it in a canister and buried it. It was found many centuries later by another village idiot (a descendent probably), who then used it to gather a small group of remote viewers to alter earths time-space location, hence we are all saved. |

iamalive User ID: 1265054 United States 07/05/2012 04:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why does everyone buy into the story that what we see far away happened that long ago, just because of the time it takes for light to travel? When you look into the telescope, as it magnifies, you decrease the time it took for the light to get where you could see it. So everything is not that old. |
