So isn't it time to adopt a NEW system whereby we stop raping and plundering the planet and stop living antagonistic lives?

We're talking about export growth, not actual export volumes, right?

If China's exports growing by only ~6% is sufficient to cause economic doom, then how did we allow ourselves to be so dependent on this growth.

Wow this is the 5 yr. chart of the Baltic dry shipping index.

I didn't expect this! If it is a good indication of movement of "stuff" from port to port all over the world, we truly did "break" after the 2008 crisis.

I don't know much about this, just have learned since the shock.

Does this shipping index also include what China exports? Is it an index for a shipping around the world or only certain countries. I'm too tired google it.

Well one thing "we" did was export our pollution.

Also "we" probably made a decision that when the US labor force lost efficiency "we" would use the skinny healthy hard working Chinese as well as their "desire" to become as fat and bloated as their US counterparts.

just a guess.

no not when the US labor force "lost" efficiency did they turn to China, but when it was no longer necessary to keep the charade going pretending there were enough unskilled and semiskilled jobs to keep laborers employed. I wonder how this has worked in reality? Our entire culture in the US was undermined by corporations in a way as to make our country physically and mentally sick. That and the advent of personal devices that waste so much time. I suppose that was truly to keep the masses quiet and to distract them from the reality of fewer jobs available resulting from technology.

What does this mean? Less plastic crap at walmart?
 Quoting: 11.11.11

Nah, just less lead painted toys for children to chew on and dogs to ingest. Personally I hope this "suffering" allows the US to become more welcoming for industries again. The #1 problem we have is we making almost nothing anymore :/

Baltic dry is bulb goods .. NOT manufactured goods.

More interesting in that aspect is the Harpex .. an index showing container ship lease rates.

Japanese factory orders are down over fourteen percent. This is the biggest single such drop over so short a time in the nation's history. The projected figures were two-point-something; this took everyone by surprise. With the even bigger drop coming from china, it's like the production side of the global economy suddenly fell off a cliff. These are great-depression-type numbers.

US is going to burn and crash when the fiscal cliff steps in. Plus, china has already goods by bypassing dollar. Pretty pathetic the witness a country with massive trade deficit would have the face to laugh on China with a trade surplus

Evolve or die.
No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are.
Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points.

China is actually going to hit a brick wall harder than America will.

China's 1 child policy has left them in a position that they are going to have a hell of a time taking care of all the old folks in a few years.

They are also getting ready to have a severe real estate crash as there are millions of homes and condos sitting empty that no-one can afford.

Plus, employment is going to stall and decline as America and Europe slows down on purchasing their goods.

So, the rise of China as the #1 superpower isnt exactly what some people would like for you to believe.

A great thing that America has going for it is that we produce more food than anyone in the world, which people always need, no matter the economy. I think that America is going to fare better in the economic downturn that China is, because they have to figure out a way to keep 1.5 billion people fed.

This is the perfect oppertunity for America to start ramping up our factories, and building new ones, and start producing goods again like we used to before TPTB sent all our jobs over seas.

China needs to quit under valuing the Yuan and let it's own internal consumer market take up the slack for reduced exports.

But then, they think they know it all, so ya can't tell them nothing.

Let's see what this shows for news out of the EU, China's biggest customer, later this week. Looks like Consumer spending is going to be down.........

I actually watched that fight with the guy in the picture. That's Hasim Rahman and the fight was stopped due to the huge hematoma on his forehead courtesy of Evander Hollyfield.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19168269

Are you sure it was Evander and not one of the Klitchkos?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14835172

I'm positive it was Hollyfield. I remember the post fight interview and Hollyfield was saying that Rahman posed an easy target due to his fighting style.

Did you catch the Klitscho fight this weekend on Epix? It was one of the most one sided fights I've seen in a while. Funny how as soon as boxing moved out of the US and into a true world context that all the heavyweight champions are White and non-American. From what I understand, American promoters only pushed Black Americans to the top because they felt that the US market would not pay top dollar to watch foreign fighters. As a true fight fan, I never quite understood why Black Americans would be any better at fighting than any other race or ethnicity. Just add it to the list of conspiracies that have been perpetrated on the public by the MSM.

The US basketball team composed of professionals, including Lebron James, did not win Gold in 2004. They were beat by amateurs from Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Lithuania. Bye-bye American basketball dominance.

China dies if it's currency strengthens.

The global trade system China is part of was set up in 1944 at Bretton Woods.

All that china has that the west wants is slave labor.

Thta is how China pays for all teh rest of the imports it's economy requires.

To derive an income from the slaves...they need to be employed...

It's the US and EU that are the demand for what the chinese slaves supply.

The rest of the population in China doesn't have what the EU and USA have.

The rest of the resources china needs in order to supply the demands of the west.

and the demands of the rich in China.

When the US consumer reached their maximum potnetial consumption in 2008.

The global trade system set up in 1944 at Bretton woods began to implode to oblivion.

Basically from 1929-1945 was the switch from England and the british pound as the demand of the world to the USA and the US Dollar.

China has to take out NATO and obtain control of the worlds resources and impose a new global trade system in order to attempt a take over.
