Distilled Water.. Good or bad?
I know this will probably win the "most boring thread of the day" award but has anyone been drinking distilled water for a while? Most of the sites i've visited have completely polarized opinions on this water. I bought two jugs today (they were only 88 cents EACH!! blink ) and I'm wondering if I should be drinking it at all now. I definitely don't want to be drinking out of the tap, that's for sure. The distilled water is much softer to drink and tastes a lot better, but I've read that since distilled water lacks minerals, it takes minerals from your body.

Anyone been drinking it? And did you almost die like these sites say I could? dead dead3

Re: Distilled Water.. Good or bad?
I think it would take a bit of time for it to really leach all the minerals from your bones/body but in the long run it is probably not the best choice. However they do sell little bottles of drops that you can use to put the minerals back in to the water so it is o.k. to drink. Just check around on the internet, they are bound to pop up. I just can't remember the name off the top of my heads right now.

Re: Distilled Water.. Good or bad?
Go for the spring water - it's the same price and I think it tastes better.

Distilled is great for appliances - irons, steamers and even for making coffee/tea.

The 3rd choice is Drinking Water - which is usually processed with reverse osmosis. So it's purified tap water.

We use puredew distilled, filttered and remineralised, it's
mint ! it's ph neutral, tasts like our double filtered (ceramic) rainwater.
Makes good colloidal silver.
Yet to try gold.

[link to www.puredew.co.nz]

Costs about $9 nz 10ltrs.

Use it with yer own mineral/vitamin plan !

There are benchtop makers around as well.

Distilled is DELICIOUS without any of the additives, just strictly h20.

Go distilled over spring, much healthier!

Thanks for the replies. I've also read that when it comes into contact with air it steals carbon dioxide and becomes acidic.

Haha it's really confusing. the more I look into it the more I see people and researchers saying the complete opposite.

Rain water is distilled water. Well until smog and chemicals turned it into acid. Distilled water is a Detoxifier and there is no way it can rob your body of its required minerals like say soda can.

Disagree.

Spring water is naturally filtered, natural water. Depending on the spring you get all kinds of good minerals. If it has a certain percentage of minerals it gets called mineral water. Springs can be at the surface or underground. The sping location is listed on the label and you can contact the company for more information about it, including what tests they run and even the list of minerals and concentration levels. Water companies take their springs very seriously. :o)

Spring water is also fun to taste test - I have some that I think are terrible and others that I love. My favorite for traveling is Evian. It tastes good at any temperature. Some don't taste so good at room temperature or after being left in a hot car all day. It's just so expensive!! My least favorite is Fiji - it's too slimy feeling to me and tastes flat. For every day - Walmart's water isn't bad, but Kmart's tastes metallic. My local grocery store brand is bland. Ice Mountain and Poland Spring are my preference depending on my budget, with Poland Spring in the lead. (And yes, I take my spring water seriously!!)

Distilled water is tap water that is turned into steam and recondensed. It's dead water. (and I happen to hate that slimey feel and lack of taste it has)

Fact is "spring water" probably isn't from a spring.

Technically speaking - spring water can be from any underground source that may or may not come up to the surface.

There's also artesian spring water - which is what most people think of when they think "spring", but it's a distinct type of water...at least according to the FDA. (Personally, not a fan of artesian waters)

Mineral water is the one to watch. It can be a spring water that is naturally high in mineral content, or it can be processed tap water with minerals added back in. But it's easy to tell - read the label and find the source info.

Drinking water or "purified" drinking water are almost 100% processed tap water. This encompasses distilled water, reverse osmosis water and filtered water. DaSani and Aquafina fit here.

Just buy a good water filter, distilling takes all the minerals out of the water.

If you have blocked or clogged arteries then to go on distilled water for a month or so is a good move.

I went on a 30 day water fast and thougth distilled would be the way to go.
After 10 days I was thirstier than ever despite drinking loads.
I also noticed a strange taste.

When I switched to spring water I felt so much better and less thirsty.

To OP, Copernica, and others...

Guess what charge the garbage toxins in our body are....

Positive.

Guess what charge DISTILLED water without any of the additives and minerals (even natural minerals, such as spring water) is.....

Negative.

The opposites attract each other and the h20 kills off many of those positive charged garbage toxins within our body.

Go with the h20.

Water with all the additives and natural minerals is NOT h20 anymore!

Distilled is much more hydrating, essentially.

Distilled water, with about 1-14 parts per million contaminants, is rated by the National Science Foundation as the purest source of water.

I am commonly asked about the mineral content of distilled water. It is a commonly held belief that distilled water leeches minerals from your bones and teeth because of osmotic pressure. This is a myth made up by smart marketers of spring and mineral water to increase sales! Any basic college text will reassure you that the human system does not work that way. If it did, your cells would be at the mercy of all the varying osmotic gradients created in your gut by every meal you eat. Remember too that the purpose of drinking water is hydration, not to supply minerals. You obtain minerals from food and supplementation. Distilled water is absolutely pure and clean and is the best source of water you can put into your body.

I've been drinking and cooking with distilled water for over 20 years, and I raised my children on it...we have never had cavities or teeth problems, except for braces to straighten the middle child's teeth, which are perfect now...no broken bones, no sickness worth mentioning...

I don't allow soda and candy in the house, but let them have it when we go out...occasionally

Distilled water is just water...that's all I want in my water, is only water.

Re: Distilled Water.. Good or bad?
Water is known as the universal solvent, pure water will take in any substance it comes into contact with (as in, any crap that is in the ground (spring water) or on your roof (rain water)).

Distilled water is the best option as it is totally free of crap.

As for minerals, there are two types of minerals, organic minerals & inorganic minerals. A tree or plant is the only type of organism in nature that can take inorganic minerals from the ground, & convert them to the type of organic minerals that nourish animals, including us.

What happens to, say, inorganic calcium that is ingested into a persons body? Well look under one of your sinks & you will see the calcium build up. Do you know anyone who works in a morgue or in medicine? He will tell you the calcium in a dead persons body is similar to that under the sink!

Kidney stones? same thing!

Re: Distilled Water.. Good or bad?
Ok OP how's this?

Distilled water is man made. So, theoretically, it is not what our bodies were designed to handle.

We were meant to drink water from natural sources complete with the minerals and fish poop. Clearly we've contaminated our lakes and rivers and rain. This leaves us with underground rivers and lakes and natural springs that aren't exposed to the surface air.

The water from these sources is naturally filtered and can take decades to reach where we can access it. Some sources contain water that has spent hundreds of years filtering through. It's older than our pesticides and poisons and it doesn't get more real or natural than that.

Keep drinking distilled water, just know that you are NOT drinking anything natural. It's manmade. It has no life left in it. As it does what water does and flushes out your system, it is not leaving anything beneficial behind. Will you wind up with brittle bones or overly cleaned and thereby stressed organs that may fail? Who knows...only time will tell. The only thing you've gotten right so far is that it is "pure" H2O and that it will rehydrate you. Another 10 or 20 years and we'll know for sure what, if any, the long term effects are of drinking only distilled water.
God Bless President TRUMP! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
