Yeah.. Canada has it so well over us. Good thing we will have the same thing with Obamacare! Once we get Obamacare, where will the Canadians go for healthcare?

North York resident Faina Mileikovskaia has been waiting for a long-term care home for 10 years. Recently, she was told she must wait another two years.

By that point, she’ll be 107 years old

As they wait, Faina’s daughter, Mila Mileikovskaia — who is 80 —provides round-the-clock care. Faina is partially blind and deaf, and suffers from delirium and hallucinations.

A personal support worker comes in for three two-hour sessions each week, arranged by the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), a provincial agency that manages long-term care. But Faina’s family says they need much more help.

“For me, it’s hard,” Mila said of her 105-year-old mother. “I can’t leave her alone. Every minute I need to see her. She sometimes falls down.”

According to the CCAC, residents who live in Faina’s area must wait an average of 108 days for a place in a long-term home. But part of the problem is that Faina doesn’t speak English and her family has requested a facility where Russian is spoken.

Compliment me with something my father would laugh at and my mother would believe.

Sad to live in a world where your only crime is to grow old. God help you when you find you're self there.

This isn't normal, I hope you realize that. Its something to do with insisting on another langauge, English or French are the official ones here, and that 100 plus days, roughly 3 months is more like the normal wait.

Its not like a facility just grows out of the air with lots of Russian speaking people.

How long has she been in Canada ? I bet she has been here plenty long enough to learn basic, rudimentary English. So she wants a home where Russian is spoken ? Go back to goddamn
Russia then.

You pretty much have zero understanding of the Canadian Health Care system and you are trying to make broad sweeping judgements after reading a single article, of which you have no idea of the particular details regarding her case.

She wants a Russsian speaking care giver.......so, what do you expect Canada to do, go and find someone especially for her?

Canada has two official languages, English and French, if she wants Russian, perhaps she should move the fuck back if it is such an issue.

But wait....no...why not take advantage of the system you never paid a fucking dime into? Why not make a big fucking deal about it?

So what you are saying OP, is that you support full use of a nations social services by immigrants no matter how ridiculous their requests and demands are.

Yeah.....right you do.

Maybe you should look at the details, because you so quickly jump on a story you think supports your viewpoint.

Canadas healthcare for its citizens is NOTHING like Romneycare.

Romneycare is just a way to get all citizens insured so they can get officially fleeced, its isn't the same as the Canadian system.

And this is the liberals' answer to healthcare?

baby

Eh?

No it is the civilized worlds answer to healthcare you ignoramus.

Do you think the U.S model is normal?

You are the only country in the free-world that doesn't have a national health plan in place.

Which is pathetic, and inherently inhumane, given the wealth modern Democracies with Liberal Economies have.
