Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9582463 The End. food won`t the the problem... water will be... Beyond one's own mind there is no dazzling light to come shining in from outside to wake one up. If one recognizes one's own intrinsic State as pure from the beginning and only temporarily obscured by impurities, and if one maintains the presence of this recognition without becoming distracted, then all the impurities dissolve. This is the essence of the Path-namkhai norbu. Why is there a legend about the descent of Christ into hell? The Teacher addressed the lower strata of the astral world, saying: Why, by cherishing earthly thoughts, bind oneself eternally to Earth? And many revolted in spirit and rose higher. We export alot of meat. Meat is going up here too and they say that chicken will double in price here in the next few weeks. We have a glut of beef so that will help and then the price of that will rise. What are meat alternatives. The vegetarians will be ok i guess. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20962526 Corn, wheat, vegetables, everything will become more expensive. Ironically and unfortunately, meat is subsidized (in Europe) and very cheap. It has become the food of the underclass. Meat is the food of the underclass The reputation of the meat industry, consumers in Germany is gone. Anyone who has studied and well-deserved, eating steak and chops today at least. One reason for the waiver of the upper classes are the meat rotten meat scandals. Quoting: Hawgzilla This will undoubtedly lead to significant food price increases across the entire spectrum of the American diet – meat, grain, dairy, vegetables and fruit. Tom Chatham of Project Chesapeake writes: Corn and soybean meal are staples in animal feed and the rising prices and drought conditions are forcing farmers and ranchers to sell off their herds for slaughter. This will cause a glut in the market over the short term and you may see lower meat prices as a result but this will only be temporary. By next year the prices of meat will rise as the supply of livestock reaches multi decade lows. Supply and demand will push prices higher as a result. Larry Pope, chief executive of Smithfield Foods has recently given a dire warning. “Beef is simply going to be too expensive to eat. Pork is not going to be too far behind. Chicken is catching up fast.” [link to www.shtfplan.com] start canning and dehydrating!!! |

I have been hearing this story all over but am unsure of how bad it will really be. Every Spring gas goes up and they say $5 by Memorial Day. So is this beef story just all hype? It will be interesting to see how high it goes. |

That is what I wrote. Vegetables, corn, what and fruit are going to be more expensive. Everythign is going up. But meat is too cheap anyway. It should be much more expensive as it has a bad impact on the environemt. Don't want to start talking about the poor animals. Don't you know that you will need the 18-30 fold amount of plant protein to produce 1 kilo of meat? Don't you thing that intensive farming affects the environment? Do you think it's fine to kill an animal for a meal? How would you feel if some cannibals came and wanted to grill you because they feel you are tasty? |

Why can't some of these people just accept that some of us like to eat meat? Nope, they don't eat meat so NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO EAT MEAT. Same with guns, they don't want guns but they aren't happy unless NO ONE HAS access to guns. So tolerant. Then when you disagree your accused of being homophobic, racist or bigoted.
