Unfortunately, OP is correct. It's very hard to find that diamond in the rough. I'm a construction supervisor and we've been through 7 or 8 younger guys that just don't wanna work. If work involved texting or talking on the phone they would fit right in! We brought in some older temps that work circles around these clownes. I also have a 19 yr old son that is lazy as fuck and doesn't really care about anything. It's really heartbreaking and my dad would have kicked my ass if I acted like him. Sometimes I think a good ass whooping would do him good but of course he took karate when he was 6 so he could "take me out". Is it wrong of me to wish he would try?

As a father of a 22 year old son who refuses to work, I have to comment on this thread. I don't approve of laziness, and have zero tolerance for it. But I have to say I do see where they are coming from. These kids are living in the aftermath of a world that has failed. They don't want to be a part of the system, it's as if they are living in a post apocalyptic world. To them the current world accepted behavior doesn't apply to them, because they all see it as failed already and they are being left to fend for themselves. They are in fact learning to survive in a cashless society with very few resources at hand. Gangs will increase and crime will also, some will band together or some will be solo. It's truly one of the most saddening things to see. We cant blame them for their actions, we brought them into this mess and by us allowing the corruption and greed to destroy our world, they are now paying for our actions. Those worthless lazy kids are gonna be the ones who survive this after we are all gone. They are prepping now for the end of the world. Look at this site...all they hear is Doom and Gloom. Why try? Why not do as you please and enjoy every last minute left. IN some ways, these kids are smarter and more resourceful than 90% of the people out there. Want to see what the world is like after WW3...or even a total collapse of humanity or society? Look around and watch the kids. They are living in it already. They know this is nothing compared to whats coming. Good for them for exiting the system. I applaud them! Basically they are giving the finger to the current society as it has already failed. They don't live in denial with false hopes as the rest of us do....kids are smarter than you think!

He has some good points. Due to the information age, our generation is much more aware in many ways than those before us. This causes many to not want to partake in a system that was ruined by generations previous to ours and the raping of our country, financial system, educational system, and greed that has killed a once great and prosperous capitalistic society.

Unfortunately, this realization that many have reached causes anxiety/depression, laziness (or maybe lack to participate in an already failed system or system they do not beleive in may be a better way to word it). So, in some cases, not all, this absence of willingness to partake in something they do not believe in causes a lessened drive that may be occasionally, falsely interpreted as "worthlessness, or laziness".

But at the same time, there are still many in younger generations who are not aware of the world they live in and are simply lazy and not driven. Who, like I said before, have some undeserved sense of entitlement, that the world and wealth should be wrapped up and given to them for nothing.

And why the fuck doesn't anyone respond to the posts I make on this thread? Am I that wrong in most people's minds? Or just boring to read, lol.

Meh, most are "good with computers" by older people's standards, that is about it, lol. That lack of work drive/ethic holds most back... Even with the technology they are used to, but not using to anywhere even close to it's full potential.
