You have provided a reference to the Moment Magnitude Scale. Two different, but related, things. Your link should have been: [link to en.wikipedia.org] which indicated no change in the Richter magnitude scale. You have to read with comprehension or you will fall into making erroneous conclusions. The Richter Scale is M or M(l). It has not changed. Some countries and agencies use M(l) as their reporting metric. The US transitioned to M(w) in the late '70s-early'80s for large EQs since it is more accurate as explained in your cited article. The two scales give similar results except for large quakes where M(w) is more accurate. It doesn't "downgrade" magnitudes by 1 as claimed. The relationship between M(l) and M(w) is complex and the difference between the 2 is all over the board from positive, to neutral, to negative. I recommend you go to the USGS site and download the "centennial catalog" to get an idea of the differences. In any event Richter Magnitude Scale has not changed. It is still in use and is essentially a calculation based on the movement of the needle of a standard siesmometer. Most EQ data at USGS is uniformly M(w) going back to the '70s (and before if you reference the centennial catalog) so strict comparisons can be made. R. Boy, that's almost as impressive as a Journalism major or an Art Hisory major or an Advanced Playground Planning major. Everyone at university knows that if you're just looking for grades take the blow-off courses like Calculus, Diff. Eqs., Linear Algebra, Group Theory, Mechanics, Electromagnetics, Relativity, Particle Physics, QED, Organic Chemistry, P-Chem, BioChem, etc. Those are easy A grades. The really tough courses are Communications, Journalism, Psychology, Art History, various Minority Studies, Drama. Those are the really tough courses and take at least an SAT score of 600 to even meet the prerequisites. <snicker> Tard. R. |

I just happen to be a big Nibiru/2012 believer but i also happen to be a photographer for a nightclub. last week i took a photo of what i thought was nibiru when i got home, just as this fellow shows a picture in his video. the sheere size of the object in the sky was awe inspiring and lines up perfectly with what he shows so we must have taken it around the same time... but i had to go and suss it out some more so the next night after work i went for a drive up the mountain and took out my APP on my phone which lines stars and planets up according to what the camera sees, it turns out the massive object and the also less massive object up to the left were planets(jupiter and venus respectivley). i believe in disinformation also so whos to say the app hasnt been bought off and edited to illuminati pleasure but for now it seems they are ordinary planets. I can post the image i took the first time from my driveway soon when i get home. |

I can't tell you how many times I've followed those videos and entered co-ordinates myself only to find myself chasing my tail. I've seen quite of bit "here it is" videos but none that looked like undeniable proof. And none that give an absolute, validated date of arrival. Save yourself the time and effort. However, since I still have an open mind, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. In fact I do believer something IS coming, and soon. The newest date of doom by something large and incoming is September 9th. Some are saying it's Nibiru. We're supposed to move from the coasts due to massive flooding as the oceans spill over from the impact. We're all supposed to be at least 400 feet above sea level to survive. I live right on the ocean on the east coast - and my birthday is September 9th. I'm following updates on this, but I'm planning a beach bonfire that day. Que sera sera. What will be will be. I'm just trying to show you how ignorant and naive you all are because we don't have the slightest clue. Change is the only constant fuck head so you keep holding your breath that your perfect little world is going to stay nice and cozy forever. Time is cyclic and the conditions are once again present for things to occur, not just on a cosmis level. A prime example is the dismantling and overall chaos about to hit your 'glorious' country... If some threat from space doesn't get you, your government will. For as much as you want to deny, 'the world as you know it' WILL be coming to an end in the very near future... You're projecting your ignorance on others, you pretend to know that others are just as ignorant as you because it makes you feel better about how stupid people like me make you feel. None of this has a damn thing to do with governmental change and revolt, but I guess since you cannot match me in astronomy, you have to get your schadenfreude from national misery instead. That tells me everything I need to know about you. I have a question...respectfully of course. As mostly a lurker for years, I have wondered WHY you are on GPL all the time doing what you do? Not that it is my business, but don't you have a job? A place to put your knowledge to real endeavors? I apologize if you have been asked and/or answered before and I missed it. Of course I have a job. No, it's not any of your business. It is none of your business because Dr. Astro lives in his parent's basement and flips burgers for income. Quoting: Dr. Astro He gave coordinates that do not actually correspond to his image. The image he showed where he points out what he calls "Nibiru's sun" and the "brown dwarf" have completely different coordinates that TBar and I both astrometrically solved and found to be in Taurus. Now, at about 4 am on July 29th, Venus had the following coordinates as seen from Brisbane: 5h24m33.28s DE:+18°53'01.3" Compare to the coordinates of the object he calls "Nibiru's sun" in his image (where it says "FK5" in the image, top left corner): [link to i319.photobucket.com] Considering his image has an angular resolution somewhere around 30 arcseconds per pixel or so, that's a match. He also points at another star and calls it the "brown dwarf." Here are the coordinates of that star: [link to i319.photobucket.com] Here are the coordinates for Aldebaran, for comparison: 4h35m55.20s DE:+16°30'33.0" So there you have it, he was looking at normal stars and planets. you obviously know more about astronomy than i do, but i have two questions, is it possible to have an eliptical orbit, and second, why did google sky paint brush a certain area of the sky were nibiru was sopposed to be His picture shows Jupiter and Venus. Googly sky is not a primary source of sky survey data. It contains errors, and idiots label those errors as nibiru. It's not that nibiru is "supposed" to be there, indeed those coordinates have nothing to do with his image. |
