Odd choice of expert... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1570896 They kinda covered that in the video. The local officialswho might know aren't saying squat and one of them even resigned. As far as the USGS goes, I wouldn't trust them to give out any information they don't absolutely have to and then I would expect it to be sanitized for public consumption. So, IF their info is that a bazillion barrel liquid butane well just 1500 feet away just might blow the lower half of Louisiana to kingdom come, but they aren't 100% sure, count on no information getting out about that. "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |

Wilson Staff Writer Published: Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 8:29 a.m. Last Modified: Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 8:29 a.m. BAYOU CORNE — Deborah Rousseau recalls the first time the ground shook beneath her feet. “It was just a little rumbling of my house,” she said. “I could feel it sitting on my sofa.” It was the beginning of a series of events that have created a fear fueled by rampant speculation, misinformation and imposing uncertainty. “The shaking was a little odd, but I didn't think too much of it, you know, at the time,” she said. Tremors are a rarity in south Louisiana, and strange events didn't stop with the occasional rumbles. Unexplained bubbles began roiling spots on the normally tranquil Assumption Parish community of Bayou Corne, nicknamed by some of the 150 nearby residents as a “sportsman's paradise.” Two nearby underground gas lines were immediately suspected but quickly ruled out as the source. Officials set up seismic monitors and tested the bubbles, but it quickly became clear there was no certain cause for what was happening in the residents' backyard. - [link to www.houmatoday.com] |

And...try to think a bit more "non-simplistically." watching the "run up" to the elections and the "hopes and dreams" that are built as a result is like watching a dead mouse that is still able to make his exercise wheel go around because his nerves are still twitching that familiar motion... |

The guy is from Louisiana AKA THE RAGING CAJUN That does make a little more sense, after hearing of his previous experience in dealing with SHTF situations and natural disasters. Thank you for clearing that up. Hopefully they will not need his expertise and people down there will be safe. |
