Water distiller vs reverse osmosis filter? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 10327591 United States 08/22/2012 09:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I prefer water distillation because it doesn't waste water and requires less filters (just a post carbon filter) usually does the trick. Reverse osmosis is supposedly excellent but wastes lots of water and requires a watchful eye on the filters to be changed more often. Some people say that distilled water leaches minerals out of your body but I don't think it does -- according to much of what I have read -- but you can find anything to support any stance. For the money and convenience, I vote for distilled. |

And the minerals the bottling companies add are allways in-organic. You want the organic stuff. Distilled water filters your body from the in-organic stuff there's in it! |

Yes, but then you're drinking water and uselessly drinking it. I know you can make up for the nutrients elsewhere - but can you have the same catalyst to get it into your body? There is a difference. |

Fluoride is not removed through RO, but it is removed through distillation. We have a distiller. I prefer to add minerals to my distilled water. If a person has a buildup of minerals in their body (very common in the U.S) distilled water does have a pulling effect. So, if you fast in any way and eat a very healthy diet, I recommend distilled water with added minerals (high quality, of course) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 12832924 Germany 08/24/2012 05:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i use reverse osmosis, filter change once a year, water exchange 1:1,2 liter which is the best i could have found on the market. it cleans water also off of pharmaceutical residues, uranium, heavy metals and so forth. if i have enough rain water i let it run trough the osmosis system also, using it for cooking, drinking and more. haven't bought bottled water ever since then. shows constant parameter of 16 microSiemens. |
