I distill my water and then add a small teaspoon sundried seasalt for all the minerals needed for my body.

AC didn't say per gallon, but if you're drinking salt water your body has trouble washing out other salt from food...Considering that most people overdo salt to begin with...It's like a diabetic trying to get rid of sugar by drinking a soda...

Whats the verdict on the two?

Is one that much better than the other?
 Quoting: Sweet Johnny 22389534

Go for Distilled! That would be my advice :)
I have been drinking distilled water for 6 Month now... At first I had quite some reactions... No details required ;) but then, WOW! Feel so much better!

Reverse Osmosis is very good... But the only water that is 100% (99.9%) pure is distilled water, that is a fact.

Check out some of the tables on our sites 'Need 2 Know' topic on Distilled Water!

LOL, that's the next thing I'll test!
You should have seen some of the 'remains' after I distilled Evian and other brands... It was disgusting.

People who drink Evian are very naive.

Try spelling Evian backwards.

distilled takes all the nutrients out, doesn't it?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1266452

Get your nutrients and minerals from food...I've been using distilled water for 20 years and raised three kids on it, the oldest is 19 and we are all in perfect health and have perfect teeth, zero fillings in our teeth...

damn it, brief now im considering not ever drinking distilled again.

Distillation is not effective on all contaminants. Many have a lower boiling point than water, and you are just distilling the poison along with your water. Think about corn liquor; the whole point is leaving all the water behind....

:) that is the very reason, why I distilled it! Just to see how "naive" some are being... ;) and guess what... The remains looked worse that the tap water, not to mention the smell!

LOL, ok, now that is an interesting statment if I have ever heard one. What you are refering to, is not quite the same distillation process and doesn't quite capture the same thing.

Only way to remove flouride is reverse osmosis.

Or, how about distilling, then using a sand/gravel filter with uv light and a huge block of activated carbon?

These filters are used in locales where fluorosis is prevalent. They are relatively expensive (lowest price I saw was $30/filter) and require frequent replacement, but do offer an option for home water filtration."

Re: Water distiller vs reverse osmosis filter?

source?

most, if not all, minerals are inorganic (anorganic). that does not mean they are synthetic.

it would surprise me, if the producers of bottled water actually did the effort to mineralize it even more. most mineral water is quite high in mineral content. only a few brands (available in europe) are actually low in mineral content and trace elements, and those brands are the most expensive (Mont Roucous, Volvic).

Re: Water distiller vs reverse osmosis filter?
And the minerals the bottling companies add are allways in-organic. You want the organic stuff. Distilled water filters your body from the in-organic stuff there's in it!

Re: Water distiller vs reverse osmosis filter?
Actually you have probably gone - so hes says distiller is slow and uses a lot of energy. RO is fine but expensive you are better of just getting a single cartridge filter it will work just as well. This is if you are just wanting to treat your tap water (though if you live in Adelaide you may need the RO - he's treated water all over Australia and Adelaide water is shit).
