lol mars has comepltely different weather to us and very extreme storm's the wind and sand would of sand blasted any kind of remains of any type of animal that ever existed there unless you dig for fossils , it is just a rock

Agree that it can be a random rock, but an interestingly symetric and with a suggestive shape, that if we could have it here for testing, could be full of surprises.

How could anyone look at that and say it's just a rock? Look at the symmetry. That is not something that just randomly occurred. That had to be formed through a biological process or was created by some intelligent being. 5 stars for you OP...

I have a friend with a background in paleontology and he showed me this picture and said that it can really be the fossilized head of a small lizard !

But he added he needed a much more high res picture of the rock/fossil in order to say for sure !

Usually I love these "looks like" pics, but this is not too sharp

the first mammal like creatures to appear after the dinosaurs were rodent like
if it is huge eyes perhaps different light or nocturnal
with out it being analysed difficult to say but certainly interesting thanks for sharing ..

That looks like a small rock that has undergone some heating which has expanded gas inside causing small holes to occur

This is really interesting for me, I'm not here to be popular, just to find more information about this intriguing image. With the original image link, I pretend to ask Nasa their opinion on this, and see if they can return to the spot and get a better image!

I agree it can be only a rock, but the features are suggestive of biological origin. And that's what intrigues me.

Lots of evidence is pointing to that they are fake.

Well there was no original message to link to, it was a discussion between me and him on Yahoo Messenger and he said (joking of course) "Look man, a dinosaur head on Mars" :) !

IF NASA takes a specific photo of that rock/fossil we should get a much higher resolution view of the object to allow a more in-depth analysis...but I doubt NASA will specifically focus the rovers' camera on this object :(.

There is too much similarity to the real thing; a depressed nasal ridge; even size eye sockets; cranial ridge on top and back; it appears to be more reptilian than mammal and the large eye sockets would indicate a nocturnal animal or one that has to deal with reduced sunlight.

You sure that's on Mars?
