The "right eye" in this presumed skull is closer to the "snout" and the left one seems to lack the protruding contour. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1306052 Agree that it can be a random rock, but an interestingly symetric and with a suggestive shape, that if we could have it here for testing, could be full of surprises. All great truths begin as Blasphemies. G.B.S. GLP is like a diamond mine of information, in the sense that you have to shovel mountains of crap to find the diamonds, but it's still worth the pain. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 6638540 United States 09/04/2012 05:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How could anyone look at that and say it's just a rock? Look at the symmetry. That is not something that just randomly occurred. That had to be formed through a biological process or was created by some intelligent being. 5 stars for you OP... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 15104259 Romania 09/04/2012 05:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a friend with a background in paleontology and he showed me this picture and said that it can really be the fossilized head of a small lizard ! But he added he needed a much more high res picture of the rock/fossil in order to say for sure ! |

Quoting: Red Hot Chilean Pepe IMHO this is one of the more neat skull images in a Mars Rover picture, but I have seen posted it only once in a Facebook comment, so I don't know where is the original picture to analyze it further. Anyone seen it before? [link to imageshack.us] looks more like a lizard skull in the desert of Arizona. [link to www.ctlab.geo.utexas.edu] |

Usually I love these "looks like" pics, but this is not too sharp Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." We can never shed our sins and regrets, only accumulate more, a burden that we grow and carry until our deaths. The best we can do is learn to live with ourselves, to accommodate our pasts |

Do you say that he showed the picture to you? Do you have a link to the original image? This is really interesting for me, I'm not here to be popular, just to find more information about this intriguing image. With the original image link, I pretend to ask Nasa their opinion on this, and see if they can return to the spot and get a better image! All great truths begin as Blasphemies. G.B.S. Lots of evidence is pointing to that they are fake. With the original image link, I pretend to ask Nasa their opinion on this, and see if they can return to the spot and get a better image! Well there was no original message to link to, it was a discussion between me and him on Yahoo Messenger and he said (joking of course) "Look man, a dinosaur head on Mars" :) ! IF NASA takes a specific photo of that rock/fossil we should get a much higher resolution view of the object to allow a more in-depth analysis...but I doubt NASA will specifically focus the rovers' camera on this object :(. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 19565327 United States 09/04/2012 05:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is too much similarity to the real thing; a depressed nasal ridge; even size eye sockets; cranial ridge on top and back; it appears to be more reptilian than mammal and the large eye sockets would indicate a nocturnal animal or one that has to deal with reduced sunlight. |
