Classic Car Favorites

All of my cars have been GM except for a 1977 Cordoba. My absolutely most beautiful car was a virtual showroom new 1972 Chevy Caprice Broughm 2 door that I bought in 1977. It was perfect. Everyone thought it was new. It even smelled new. Baby blue with a white vinyl top, baby blue interior, every goodie you could ever want, 25,000 miles. Totally spotless, no rust, no scratches, no dings,not a speck of dirt on anything, PERFECT, a real dream car. I had it one month to the day. A guy ran a stop sign 4 blocks from my house, as I was on my way to the last day at work before my vacation started. Car was totaled, my left arm got broken, and the guy that hit me spun around and creamed a fire hydrant.

LOL on the cockroach brown !!! My mother had to have brown and orange everything, but thankfully, she didn't drive. My Dad always had a white or black car. The only exception was his old GM pickup. That was green. His old Ford pickup with the pipes up the side, and tricked out to the max, was a real black beauty !
I am lucky that I never had to replace a front end, but I did have to replace the rear end on my Buick last year. It was all my fault, using it for driving lessons for my youngest. I think she accidentally did it in by throwing it in park before it was totally, absolutely stopped. She tried to be careful, but... She is my vintage muscle car nut. I have gone with her to look at cars. Some were decent deals, some were rip-offs, some were priced way too high. For right now, until she finishes college, she will make do with a 1992 Lincoln Towne Car that my husband gave her. She actually has started to restore it bit by bit, and would like to keep it until she graduates college in 2016. Then it is time for her vintage 1968-1975 Mustang or Camaro. Of all the muscule cars, she likes these 2 the best.

Convertibles are such an American Classic ! I had a friend who had a black 1965 Ford Galaxie Convertible. I have never owned one. My choice would be a 1976 Eldorado convertible. The last year of the super big Caddy's.

I drove dirt track in 1997 & 2000. I took the checkered flag 3 times in 1997. My husband & I are looking at race cars again, I hope to be back in a car for next Spring.

I can't believe that I'm actually thinking about crawling back in a car again.

Not quite a "classic" yet, but my car is my favorite. 1992 Acura Integra.

That is a WOW ! How long did it take you to restore it?

Kill switches tucked in various places, and a chapman work well also. You would be surprised how many old cars there are in my area, owned mostly by either young car enthusiasts or gangbangers.

My only experience was having a wrecked 1974 Caddy in a demolition derby. I couldn't drive it, because my back got broken in the accident, so my neighbors cousin drove it for me. Darn thing won it's heat and the Derby, but got too crunchy at a demo derby at another locale. It was fun watching it win. I really wish I could have driven it. My friends painted my name all over the Caddy. :)

This is my second Buick. I had an 1981 Buick Station Wagon. It was a great hauler, and very dependable family car.

My son-in-law had the identical car. He sold it back a few months ago.

1970 or 71 Challenger - Six-pac 440 with a Hurst pistol grip four speed...or
1964 GTO - 389 with four speed.

That Mustang sounds like a real honey ! That is the car that is on my daughters short list ! She looked at a 1971, but the price was too high, and the body was not done up to specs. It was a sloppy body job, rippled and bumpy. It was not worth the $10,000 they wanted for it. We tried to get the price down, but they would not go less than $9,000. She offered them $5,000.
