BREAKING: Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Takes Legal Action to Force Teachers Back to Work!

The Teacher Union President, Karen Lewis, is not intimidated by Emmanuel. From what I heard, back a few weeks ago, Emmanuel called her to a meeting at his office, to try to halt the then proposed strike. I heard it was a shouting match, laced with some very choice words. I think Emmanuel is lucky that Lewis didn't slap him. This is going to be one heck of a showdown ! Lewis is one tough lady,backed by the thousands of union members, who are not about to take any crap from Emmanuel and his buddies, including the pos in the White House. Even if Emmanuel gets the court order, I expect the Teachers Union to defy it.

Strange - When a Republican governor was having a fight with the unions, all my lefty friends posted pro union stuff all over facebook. But for some reason they are silent right now.

How's he gonna' keep his AAA rating from the unions if he makes them go to work at their overpaid jobs. Chicago public schools are some of the worst in America, and the teachers are the most overpaid. The teachers don't send their kids to public school because they know how bad it is. If the strike is illegal, arrest them! Throw their asses in jail until they cool off a little. Let them do a little "Bubba time", maybe when their butts heal up they will reconsider.

Why in the hell should they get a pay raise when the kids can't read, write and do even simple math?

avg salary 75k/year and asking for 20% increase over 3 years.

75K ain't shit in Chicago, lower middle class at best.
