Why Does God Allow Innocent People To Suffer?

Most will end up better in the after life, it teaches us all something while on earth. Life is short when you think about it.

Putting it that way..I might tie my kids to the heater and watch them scream in agony until the finally learn NOT to touch the heater.

Then I will be like my father in heaven..bearing the agony of my children as I lovingly watch them WRITHE.

I actually think God is still asleep. When he wakes up I don't think he is going to be very happy.

So god did all the millions who are starving to death..and all those killed by hitler and stalin..and all those killed in wars and such..a GREAT BIG FAVOUR.

If Gods love is like that..can you imagine how the world would be if satan took over?

Since God created all things, to include Satan, it stands to reason that by default, He is responsible for all that happens to us, both good and bad. However, He has given us guidance through His prophets and His Son Jesus Christ on how best to live our lives, and to avoid evil when we are confronted with it. It is our choice, our free will to decide which path we will follow, God only hopes we will choose love over hate, reverence over mockery, humility over arrogance.

The theory is possible, I admit. What greater lesson for compassion is there other than to go through the fire ourselves.

However, even though I acknowledge the theory is possible, it still smells of another form of control. Ya know, the "sit back and take it" theme and eventually you'll be saved, and it will pass.

its hard to see the big picture. the book of life sits next to God, but He "chooses" not to look.

Those people are not stupid, they have been fooled into an ideology of hatred, with threat of death if they resist. It is manipulation at it's core, and it is pure evil. However, we all have an innate and instinctual knowledge of what is right and wrong, regardless of those around us. Even when confronted with overwhelming evil, we still have the means and wisdom to resist.

My friend. I have wrestled with this question for many years. My answer may not be yours, but the one I have come to, is God isn't allowing the suffering at all.... We are. How ever much we do not want to believe it, we go to work, watch tv, visit friends etc, and very few of us go out and seek these people that are suffering and attempt to Intervene. We let it happen. And God having given us the greatest gift of all, our free will, suffers greatly with the innocent, and anguishes that we don't intervene. It is in more of our power to stop it, than those who wish to cause harm. It's this same free will that will probably lead us to our destruction. And he will suffer greatly at that. I think we have really let him down, although I don't think it's our fault. We seem to have had a lot of "help" in that direction. But take heart, humanity IS starting to wake up, and we may have a chance to beat them. In the end, it is God who will judge us, one by one by one. Take care of yourself and those around you, cast a message of love far and wide. God will take care of the rest ;)

I have not quoted the bible, nor will I. That is for you to read and decide what you will. However, I know the bible was written my men, divinely inspired or not, so I put more importance on what I feel God wants me to know within my own heart. If that contradicts what is in the bible, then so be it.

How can you talk about manipulation and force being evil when christians use it every day..as does god..according to them.

If a man on earth did this..threatened a woman with torture if she did not marry him..and actually DID torture her when she refused..for OBVIOUS reasons..he would be EXECUTED or locked away in a mental house for LIFE!!

BUT GOD says and does the SAME THING TO US!!

FIRST..he FORCES us to be born IN SIN..in a system HE SET UP..PLANNED..AND CREATED..FULLY KNOWING what will happen..he FORCED this life upon us..we DID NOT ASK for it.

Then to confuse the living crap out of us he lets us live with about 50,000 differing religions..MOST of them more or less the same..DO things THEIR way or SUFFER forever...

And then..when we DONT love God the way HE is blackmailing us to do with all his threats....HE HAS US tortured TO DEATH..IN A DEATH THAT never ends..FOR NOT loving such a screwed in the head tyrannical sicko !

BUT WHO would?

WOULD you LOVE SOMEONE WHO forced YOU TO LOVE THEM??

I agree with you that God does expect us to help those who cannot help themselves. However, the same question is asked when thousands die due to a natural disaster, one that we could not have prevented. It is during times like those that people question God the most.

Free will.

We're all like actors locked in roles and when we croak we see they were our friend. It's all a hoot. Who knows how long we're really here or if we're really even real. What if this is the matrix, and life is but a dream?

He does not allow innocent people to suffer. If people suffer, then they have created the events that make them suffer themselves, and through that suffering many lessons will be learned!
God gave the freedom of choice, that is the law, and that means total free choice. Whatever shit you do and allow, you will go through until you learn to no longer do it, which is why you should have taken your world into peace and not self destruction.

I can see your frustration, and on the surface, it certainly looks like the way you described. However, we have the choice to follow God's commandments and love our fellow brothers and sisters, or not. As much pain as is inflicted on us after death is due to our own mistreatment of others while alive.

I'm sorry, my friend - but you cannot claim that victims of natural disasters created those events. I know that is on a grander scale than how most people tend to suffer, so I see your point there - if you live by the sword, you die by it.

I will agree with you, SOME Christians do tend to be very arrogant and condescending, if not outright hypocritical. You would be right in assuming they are not following God's path for them, they are following their own.
