I am aware of the historic connections and the family name change and all that.

I also remember well being glued to the tv when Diana met her fate...tragic. What stunned me though was the relative indifference showed by the Royals, as if they didn't have a clue as to how to act.

We do have our fascination with them though. Maybe it's a throwback to another time of romanticism when royalty was truly royalty. Now, especially with Harry and Kate in the news, their humanity shows through and the bubble of their godliness bursts into a crude joke.

As far as Diana, her humanity shown through perhaps a bit too much and the rest of them did not like it. Conspiracy theorists think the Royals may have had a hand in her death due to her willingness to take on causes and stand up for what she believed in.

I've noticed this too. Its all Kate's tits (which, less face it, were not very impressive - my girlfriends are much, much better) and now its all that crap about a politician calling a policeman a 'pleb'.
