If I hear that song played on an oldies station, I switch channels. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21160718 No way man, that song was about something or other, which nobody still knows what. I think he blended the purity of Miss America with mom's wholesome apple pie to symbolize "god's country". I don't know happened 'the day the music died' but I think it meant Kennedy's assassination and resistance to the military industrial complex's wealth from invading Vietnam. It was about the sudden death of Buddy Holly Your both wrong, it was about absolutely nothing, the song writer just started ryhming events from his own life and threw some other stuff in there randomly. THe musician ( forgetting his name) , said so himself that the song has absolutely no "deep" meanings of any kind. Google it. Well if that's so... please slam a big ol Aunt Jemimah pancake in Don Mclean's face from dgn and company. |

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 9231012 United States 09/26/2012 02:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yea, That song Lady Lumps, really sucks. But I have two old time classic that I seriously have hated over the decades. One was "Tiptoe through the Tulips" by that weird looking man that played a ukelele as he sang it. and... I never really liked that song called, "A brand new key" about a fricken roller skate key by some strained vocal female, Melanie something or other. On the other hand while talking about old time rock and roll, I still think one that sounds pretty and kind of exotic and romantic is.."Midnight at the Oasis" I never get tired of hearing that one. |
