Re: Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
Here it is October 1st 2012. Since 2005 when I became interested in the whole 2012 prophecy phenomenon I figured by now (October 1st, 2012) the shit would be hitting the fan in ways we had never imagined.

I figured by now I'd be done with the rat race, and would be living at my camp, making my final push for winter supplies while the world was in chaos.

I figured people would have started panicing by August, and it would have spread globally by now.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

So I'm preppd. I have everything I need, but I'm really strongly leaning in the direction that nothing is going to happen...at all.

There is nothing happening in the world that spells DOOM. Nothing that is so far out of the ordinary (financial termoil, fighting in the Middle East and Africa etc...).
Heading into solar max...no real problems here.
Just the same ol' same ol'.

So I confess now that I no longer believe that anything will happen on December 21, 2012 that is out of the ordinary.

Sure I'm still keeping an eye out, always will most likely, but not with the same intensity as I have been.
 Quoting: Wash

There won't be a big bang world dissolving doom.
TPTB are too smart for that.
We are frogs being boiled slowly so we don't know we are being cooked to death.
It's doom by stealth or death by a thousand lashes.

Keep prepping as food/gas/untility prices will rise in increments so you don't notice how lighter your wallet is getting.

They've had lots of experience at this over the last 2 centuries and will only bring on revolutions/riots when it's in their own best interest.

I'm beginning to believe that they don't want total chaos but CONTROLLED CHAOS.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9977516

couldn't agree with you more, as prices keep getting higher and higher each week, I'm feeling better about what we have. I really don't understand people not doing anything, even if you have money. Just because you have money doesn't mean you can buy food from empty shelves. The ones that are in denial are the frogs.

As far as I am concerned I certainly don't believe the world will come to an end in December 2012, but nonetheless there has been this worldwide financial crisis which has now been followed by serious economical crises affecting at least Greece, Spain, and Italy in the European Union with a looming threat of the collapse of the Euro and the European Union (although not everyone thinks this will happen, obviously).

I don't know if it is just a need for gloomy apocalyptic scenarios of the unkempt masses but let's not forget there was a Great Depression which started in 1929 and lasted for several years, and had very severe consequences in the US. Many thousands had to line up in soup kitchens which was unheard of and many othes committed suicide when stocks plunged and they lost their whole savings.

It sounds like you have it all together...so if/when it comes you're ready. That's what prepping is all about: simply being ready...it's not about doom or waiting for doom, but being ready when it comes.

YOU are a marketing genius! How you got all those people to buy your survival supplies - to spend their last $$ thinking society will unravel and they will head for the hills and survive all on account they bought your supplies - and this in a recession, to get so many to part with their hard earned $$ - pure genius.

The best part is how since it hasn't come "the doom" - they have to keep restocking the supplies which means more $$.

Fear it's like porn. Everybody believes they can prepare. hahaha

Doom is sneaky.

I always said .. those that want to see will see.

50% unemployed youth ?
60% unemployed women ?

Dude .. it is just a few hours car drive away and if somebody told the masses in 2005 that just 7 years later the great economy of spain will blow into pieces ... NOBODY would have believed it.

But as i said .. doom is sneaky and who thought that it will be like the movie "2012" is greatly off.
No tsunamis, no 9+ earthquakes, no aliens, no monsters, no super-flu, ..

Just a crumbling economy living on (literally) borrowed time.

Doom is you .. unable to pay your bills.
Unable to pay a doctor.
Unable to feed your kids.

Doom is ... fighting with a dozen of man, with fists for the "great honor" (and a few bucks) to shovel snow in winter for the community (my grandfather did)

Just so he could put a few more meals on the table to feed his kids.

Doom is sitting in your freezing flat .. and yes even in one of the richest countries on the planet 1/8 of the people already have serious problems keeping their homes warm ... which is an official statistic .. which means: very likely the numbers are worse.

I am a .. not really a prepper .. but looking for independence of the spiderweb which is todays society.

I am kinda wealthy because even knowing that doom is coming i still have to maintain a live and pay my bills.

I know your prepping exhaustion from personal experience ... it goes away.

 Quoting: Wash

It's certaonly a good question.
Good answers however might be hard to come by...

Why do you want "real" doom ?
Wasn't the Great Depression impressive enough ?
Or WW II which I think qualifies as "real" doom even if the world eventually came out of it ?

We have seen the effects of the 2005 hurricane Katrina at New Orleans... we have seen the effects of the 2004 tsunami. How many casualities did that one make ? Not to mention the recent tsunami in Japan.

Remember volcano Krakatoa when it exploded at some point in the 19th century ? It caused a huge tsunami which dwarfs both tsunamis I mentioned. Its sound wave raced 3 times around the globe... ashes blotted out the sunlight for how long ?

So we know things like these do happen, although we don't know if there was ever an actual "doom" scenario. But what if the Yellowstone supervulcano explodes one fine day (channces aren't that high, admittedly, but people do win the lottery although chances as you know are closer to zero than to "not high")... people in the US will be affected much harder than those living in Asia or in Europe, so it would make sense for Americans to be more concerned about it, I suppose.

Well , the problem is that most people believe that by december 2012 everything would be finished or that exactly on 21 st december 2012 something major will happen.
The truth is that that date is the beginning of the end. From that date you will start seeing things happen, major natural disasters, earthquakes , not to mention different comets which will bring misery to earth etc. This will be increasing for just over two years and by April 2015 is when the real pole resversal/ huge whole earth earthquake will arrive.
Watch and see.
But anyway , let me tell you that all your survival food and gear won´t be of any use if your heart is not ready for what is about to come.

If you're waiting for doom with faith, create your own doom.

Just grab your prep bags and move the fuck out into the wild country.

Losing faith on the death of millions and contaminated air, water and food source is not a good way to start a new life, but if YOU move by choice, you might find a beautiful life ahead.

You DON'T NEED DOOM. You need courage to take the step by yourself.

Doom as an excuse is a terribly egotistical mindset.

when it happens most of the west will be under the sea and it WILL happen

even the mainstream media have announced that a MASSIVE comet(planet x/wormwood) is going to light up the sky in the next year,Christ said ONLY god knows the day but the enlightened will sense the time
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 831183

I've been reading about Nibiru/Wormwodd etc...since 1998. Me thinks it's all BS. That comet next year will pass by, no harm done. Remember ELENIN?

planet x is fucking REAL mate, the media have only just announced that a a comet biggest since 1600s is going to light up the sky(they knew years ago),they have admitted massive solar flares are on the way,we have a massive spike in EQs,the evidence is stacked, then we have all the nations bankrupt with a world revolution on the way,the verichip prophecy is 100% legit if you cant see then you have done something wrong and you have been sent strong delusion....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 831183

There will be no revolution. At least not in Asia. We are all conditioned to accept shit, and it has been our way of life for thousands of years.

You people in the west have become the same too. Look at Spain, where thousands of people cannot fight a few hundred cops. Americans, British...Europeans, all the same.

Very few "awake" ones on this forum will revolt violently, preferring others to do it, while they "watch" and "prep". Think I don't know? rockon

At the same time, lots of shills have been spreading disinformation on this forum and elsewhere, so much so that so many believed 2012 was the end, when it's far from it. I have to praise TPTB in this regard, because they are way ahead of, and in this game.

My conclusion after so many years is: There will be NO sudden world ending shit, just slow, gradual descent into greater immorality, idiocy, despair, and despondency for the majority of humans on this earth. That much I can sense, and I know many of the "sheeple" feel and sense it too, but know they are powerless to do anything about it.

But social unrest certainly can take treatening proportions, and who's to say a crumbling economy is the only possible cause ? Now and again those social wildfires are cropping up here or there. London comes to mind, earlier this year, or Greece. Think of what happened in Egypt, Libya, or Syria.

"Doom prepping" is now a dying meme.

It was just another hoax to spur Americans to buy more shit to help boost the economy.

Oh really? Since when does prepping involve buying new autos, stereo systems, big-screen TVs, cell phones, etc.

I'd say that buying extra food, water, batteries, etc. isn't exactly stimulating the economy all that much.

it is happening, it's just that so much disinfo is out there and we've become so 'used to' the expectation...we cannot see the forest for the trees...

Re: Confessions of a prepper losing his faith in DOOM.
I am sure of one thing- As a mother I love my three children more than anything. I am only just waking up to the state this world is really in.
If I had known what I know now, I would never have had my children.... I love them so much it pains me to realise that they are going to suffer...without a doubt this world is going to get worse and worse.
Maybe not in one instant like the doom some are waiting for....but it is happening like a slow and deadly cancer.
Ten years ago when my Grandfather said my daughter was beautiful but he would not have had children in todays day and age....I thought he was a little over the top to say the least. But now, I see what he meant.
