I used to make 30K a year and got tired of it. I saved up for years so I could go to school without borrowing a dime of anyone else's money. I didn't learn a DAMN thing the one year I went to college. It did, however help me get an internship at a good company where I worked my ass off and got offered a job. Now I make 100k a year and don't give a rat's ass about people who whine about their shitty jobs. BTW, when I "lived in your shoes" I didn't bitch about people who made more money than I did, I looked at what they did to succeed and copied it.

they need to try living off what most disabilied people on ssi get. that is only $698 a month. with that little amount then try paying a land payment of 225 per month, water bill of 40 per month, light bill of 150 per month, car insurance on a 1997 chevy of $60 per month and then with what is left put food on the table, buy the high gas prices for the chevy just to get to the store and back, buy the things one needs to stay clean like soap, shampoo, and washing powders.

thats what they need to do. I think all the rich people and those making several thousand dollars a year need to switch places with the extremly poor and try making ends meet for about 3 months.

and not only that but think about when one needs work done on their home like a leaky rioof, holes in the floor, etc. they cant do it. they are many hurting in this economy and the rich dont even realize it.

not to mention those working a 40 hour week job at 7.25 per hour, half goes to taxes the other half to the high rent they are paying, cant seem to get a 1 bedroom apartment for less then 300 a month, then if you take that out of their checks, look what they have left for food, the gas to get back into the car or truck to get them to work just to get the money, etc

i would love to see a rich person living in a run down 1967 1 bedroom camperr that has leaks in the ceiling holes in the floor and then getting a monthly check and deciding do i pay the light bill or buy food? this is a 100% truth that most poor have to decided each month to either buy food so the family wont starve or pay the light bill so they dont freeze

Then learn to play the system. I agree with you OP, college is BS. I graduated college in '92. That degree was nothing more than a firestarter. I felt the same way that you do now.
After years of dead end jobs i finally learned a trade and started my own business. Never looked back.

Keep in mind that 100k is relative to where one is living. We all don;t live in small cities. 100k in NY or LA is poor wages. Especially on a family. Houses are expensive.

I never got one, and while I don't quite make $100K it's also been a long, long time since I've made $25K.

My advice to the OP: teach yourself how to do something that people are willing to pay you to do, do it better than others and you will get ahead. Otherwise, enjoy shoveling shit for $25K for the rest of your life.

For me it happens to be programming and database stuff, and I learned a lot of it before the Internet was mainstream, back when books were the only way and there was no-one to turn to for help.

If the Internet was around when I was a kid I would be orders of magnitude more skilled than I am now, since literally everything one needs to know is out there, and available for free.

There really is no excuse, with so much knowledge at one's fingertips.

It all depends on what you do. I do not have a job, and my only income is a bit less than $30,000 a year, but, my house is paid for, my vehicle is paid for, and I have a net worth of $2,000,000. That is because I worked my ass off for 30 years and pad for 500 acres of farm land and paid off my debts, all the while accumulating stuff I need. You can do it, it just takes work and time.
