CitizenX1 User ID: 14244049 United States 10/05/2012 08:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok, so I just talked to two gas station managers that I'm pretty cool with, one from Shell, another from Alliance. The Shell manager I talked to this morning, she said that gas could go up to $6 but that she wasn't sure in how long, thought she said not very long. The one from Alliance who is the one I just talked to about an hour ago, said that it's going up to $5 for sure. But here's what he told me that kinda set off my DOOM sirens, he said that by Monday, most gas station will be closing, if not all. I asked him if it was just Alliance, or if it was all companies, and he said it was all. He said they've been losing around $5000 each day the past 2 days and that they can't go on like that. I asked him if he knew how long they would be closing down for, and he said he didn't know, that no one knew. That they were waiting on the GOV to step in and "regulate" what is happening. Those were his exact words. When I asked him why we were not hearing about this on the news, he said that they don't tell us anything. They don't even tell him much until it is about to happen. But that he was already told to be prepared to close down by Monday indefinately if the GOV didn't do anything by then. I am in Souther Cali, in Orange County by the way. Just an FYI. By the way, I gotta give thanks to both those managers, because they both waited until I got gas before raising the prices. Shell raised it .15 cents and Alliance raised it .10 cents right after I pumped. They both told me they were about to raise them, but that they would wait until I got my gas. If you can, I would fill up as soon as possible. DOOM! always near, never here. |
taniatarn User ID: 7513323 New Zealand 10/05/2012 08:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In New Zealand we currently pay around $8.08 a gallon ( $ 2.14 litre for unleaded petrol)...so thats around $6.60 in USD a gallon... Can hardly afford to run a car nowadays....costs at least twice as much as it did just a few years ago... Interested observer of all things interesting! Quoting: AwakeInTassie And how much was it, say, last week. Did it go up to $6 overnight or was it a slow creep thing? The article El Q posted is about one gas station in one city - the affluent* city of Calabasas, north of L.A., where the station raised gas to $5.99 gallon for super unleaded. * [link to en.wikipedia.org] Here's a more realistic view of our prices in L.A.. Still high, but not yet $5 in most places. |

"Once a government is committed to the principal of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in terror" - Harry S Truman "The single most inspiring source for us is the human struggle." Jared Leto “Money, without brains, always is dangerous. Properly used, it is the most important essential of civilization.” - Napoleon Hill “Failures see the hole in the donut, but do not see the donut around the hole.” - Napoleon Hill “One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results.” ― Milton Friedman Every man has a right to utter what he thinks is truth, and every other man has a right to knock him down for it. - Samuel Johnson |

The high price of Gas only hurts the Little People who make less than $50,000 a year. If they make that little, they are stupid and deserve to suffer. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16674316 all by design.. so there's not 'too many chiefs and not enough indians' the elite dont feel special enough anymore. they gotta hate their sheep into the gutter so they can once again feel special.
