This country was built by an armed population capable of fending for themselves, and will be lost by couches full of potato-sheeple riding their 52" HD-LEDTV's into the orwellian sunset. :( :abomb::abomb::abomb: BRING ON THE DOOM!!! |

The Closest one, besides those that hit, was a mere 5480 kilometers, Very Small Asteroid Makes Close Earth Approach on February 4, 2011 "Asteroid 2011 CQ1 was discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey on February 4 and made a record close Earth approach 14 hours later on February 4 at 19:39 UT (14:39 EST). It passed to within 0.85 Earth radii (5480 km) of the Earth's surface over a region in the mid-Pacific. This object, only about one meter in diameter, is the closest non-impacting object in our asteroid catalog to date..." [link to neo.jpl.nasa.gov] Quoting: TBar1984 Here's one from last year Asteroid 2011 MD CPA Earth @ 18,651 Kilometers [link to www.youtube.com] There are currently around 590,000 Known Asteroids, ftp://ftp.lowell.edu/pub/elgb/astorb.html they suspect the real number is around 6 MILLION. As for the NEOs, the current number of around 8000 is expected to be around 100,000. Small dark rocks are hard to see, until they get close. With Millions of them flying around, some will come close. Look at the numbers in this video; The Condition Code has absolutely nothing to do with the Current Location. It's all about the Future Orbit. A high CC simply means the orbit years away is not know well enough to avoid losing it when it it leaves sight and then comes back into sight range. They don't watch these small rocks all the time, they can't. Note how objects that aren't expected back don't have a Condition Code [link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov] From the other threads... |
