Been researching WATER PURIFICATION straws....
and it seems that although LifeStraw is cheaper and works great, it doesn't kill viruses. NDur's kills viruses, but costs more than LifeStraw - is it worth the money??

See LifeStraw vs. NDur Straw (I'm looking at www. Survivor's supply .com) for the NDur version. Googled LifeStraw and saw them for $20.00 at a gun show.

Anyone have thoughts?

Don't know if this makes much of a difference, but Marine bases stock the NDuR straw, not the lifestraw. Lifestraw claims a smaller particulate filter, but the NDuR wins out IMHO due to it's ability to remove virus, bacteria, and chemicals at LOG 6.

Keep a gallon of bleach with you and forget the straws. 4 drops bleach per gallon of water , let sit for 1 hour before drinking.
