I live about 55 miles from the sinkhole and I am not concerned. Why should I be? I don't have the money to go anywhere.

Re: Louisiana Sinkhole gas flaring to begin, number of people suffering poisoning mounts
To the person wondering about the burning of the gasses off, and it causing an explosion by fire going down the pipe!

They have a long pipe coming out of the hole. They have an igniter on the end of it. If and when the flame goes out, the flame will not go down the pipe! This is because of valves. If there is no pressure forcing the valve open, the valve closes so nothing can go back down the pipe. pressure from the gas keeps the valve open....nothing else!

The problem with burning is that if there is a sufficient amount of gas coming out from everywhere and it reaches the flame on the relief pipe....BOOM!

BOOM!

keep this in mind.

i noticed while fox news was on today, they were talking about the statistics of the meningitis outbreak.. something like 12 died and thousands have been sickened by it. however, they are blaming steroid shots as the cause.

i can see the twisting of information before my eyes.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1458136

I think there is much more to that outbreak than steroid shots as well.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19658471

ESI (Epidural Spinal Injections) are for people who suffer from extreme pain, be it the back, leg, sciatica, ect. It is a type of Cortisone that is injected.

This Injection made by that New England company become contaminated by something/someone. It started in May and now all are being recalled (Took them long enough). Maybe only a few were contaminated.

But don't ever count on MSM to tell you the truth.

My mother gets these injections for pain. Cortisone is a type of steroid. I used to get them for my knees but it's not something you want to do on a frequent basis.

Hwy 70 was periodically closed earlier due to an unusual flare at Crosstex. We’ve received inquiries about a well being in fire… This was a large flare and NOT a fire. Although the flare was large, we’ve been advised that it was still within normal operations. The road was closed for safety purposes while the flare was checked. The road is now open.

I sincerely believe they are scared shitless of what will happen when they start flaring.

I'm no Physics Major, but I do know the law that says Space abhors a vacuum meaning that when you take something out of a space, something has to come in to fill the void.

Now compare this to all of the bubble spots all over the Bayou Corne area and the surrounding areas. I could be totally wrong here, but the only thing that can fill the void left by the escaping gas isthe ground above as we are seeing happening with the ever expanding sinkhole.

When they drilled Well B out in the Gulf, BP and Mancado KNEW the shelf was unstable. The seabed there is the beginning of the North American NG pool that goes all through the Midwest, Texas (almost to West Central Texas), and up into the Great Lakes and Canada in Ontario where the St. Lawrence river acts as a geographical national boundary between Canada and the US.

I don't know what they think they are doing? The topological maps show the area where they are going to start venting this supposed 5ft plume of methane as being over 1400 ft deep...I mean the depth of the salt dome near it. So only a 5ft plume? Really? And the guy in the second video Alexis posted clearly said that the crude being found in the sinkhole could very well be from the Gulf.

Really? Well no shit! Check the flow of the Aquifer under all of those hydrocarbons. It flows North North West out of the Gulf then turns North North East all along that lovely New Madrid fault line.

I say again. When you take something out of a space, something rushes in to fill it. Just like a Thunderstorm. The Thunder is actually the sound made by air rushing in to fill the void left by the discharge of particles which we call lightning. They keep playing this down like it's no big deal, but I'm telling you, these "experts" don't have a clue what is going to happen nor what is happening nor how to stop it.

Agree with you.

And now we have this:

BP is coming back to haunt us big time.

We always knew this would be a long lasting event, just like Fukushima.
This is exactly why I moved away from the gulf coast. This is also the reason for many other long-time residents leaving. I know someone very close to me that is a real estate agent, the reasons that she hears from home sellers are always something about the oil spill.

They have to dome tent those sink holes , and or leaking areas, then vent it off to a special flare machine.

Why flare it when you could pump it into tanks and use it? I think this is all blown out of proportion and nothing much is really happening....

Re: Louisiana Sinkhole gas flaring to begin, number of people suffering poisoning mounts
Let me get straight before I abandon this thread.

People getting sick with meningitis, chicken pox, HFMD.. these are all diseases related to the nervous system. This being linked to the gasses being expelled from the ground is still in discussion. THE VACCINES were only mentioned in the second post because the MSM has just recently started talking about the statistics of people diagnosed and dying from meningitis. In the news, they blame it on bad batches of steroid shots from this summer.
How could this only be a coincidence?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23966953

To those confused.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23966953

IF, and I stress IF, meningitis, chicken pox, HFMD, etc, etc cases were all exploding right next to the sinkhole, then there might be a connection worth discussing. BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

People are getting those diseases all over the country/world. There is no super-hotbed of these diseases adjacent to the sinkhole. Just the normal, typical random few cases that would normally be expected there. Therefore, it is beyond idiotic to clog up this thread with bullshit about how somebody's Aunt in Wisconsin has shingles. IT'S NOT FUCKING RELEVANT.

START A FUCKING THREAD ABOUT VACCINES/SHINGLES/BIGFOOT IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS THAT SHIT. DON'T DO IT HERE.
