Just speculation here -- but most probably the driver was having a hard day and the confrontation with this jerk pushed him over the edge. It's also obvious that she hit him first both from the vid and from her not wanting to comment on who hit first. I don't condone volience as a solution to any dispute -- but she had that one coming. In any case both parties were wrong...
