Japanese people are extremely good at ignoring things. Old people refuse to leave their hometown, and their children refuse to leave them. People jump in front of trains in Japan everyday and nobody blinks an eye. People see someone fall down the stairs in a subway and nobody stops to help. So I think most people in Japan don't care.
