I look out at the Pacific on the central Oregon coast. It amazes me that so many people look at me like I'm crazy when I talk about preparedness. When the Cascadia subduction goes there will be little time to make a plan. For me the Japanese tsunami was a wake up call. |

NalloArt User ID: 20700212 United States 11/08/2012 12:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well actually we little Oregonians are going to be fine. The 1700 Cascadia earthquake was about a 8.7-9.2 and we managed just fine. It was Japan that got hit with Tsunami, not us. And it's ironic too 'Cause what we tend to do Is act on what they say And then it is that way~Jem. |

When my husband was still alive, we used to go to Manzanita every year for 4th of July. It was our one "big" vacation every year, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The year he passed away I went back once more, thinking that perhaps he would sort of "be there" since it had been such a big part of our lives. Well, he wasn't "there" at all, it was just depressing seeing everyone else having such a good time, and I spent the whole weekend looking out to sea and wondering if I'd be able to see a tsunami if it were racing across the ocean. Then at night I lay in bed, worried that I'd sleep through the tsunami alarms if they were to go off. I could hardly wait to get the hell out of there, and haven't been back since. I felt a lot better once I had a mountain range between me and the ocean! "I have come to the conclusion that all news should be treated like 9/11, assume it is a psyop with actors participating in a staged event complete with props, until proven otherwise, in which case assume whatever is being recorded, reported, televised, is distortions/lying by omission/outright lies, until proven otherwise." - Anonymous, 4-13-12 |

That was when I really started becoming aware of tsunamis. Hood, blowing its top. "Stupidity is not a reason that you're going to be innocent." "When you open your hearts to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice." "Americans are dreamers, too." |
