La Sinkhole Situation Just Got Much Worse! Update: Dangerous Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Detected, Seismic Activity Picking UP

I was mentioning this to people I know in Colorado and California, and they didn't know ANYTHING about the sinkhole, said they've heard nothing about it.

Is 20-30 really enough? I think the hole is just too big, we need more than that to plug it.

The news black out is intentional. They don't know what's happening and they are afraid people would panic if there is a worse case scenario.

I would suggest that those who haven't google Matt Simmons and watch some of his videos from the BP spill. He was a whistle blower at the time and met a very "strange" hot tub "heart attack" death.
This sinkhole mess is tied in to the debacle in the GOM. That is a very delicate ecosystem and BP screwed it up. The seabed is fractured and oil is still leaking out in various places.

I am from Louisiana. I have since moved, but I still live on the Gulf Coast...well within the 500 mile radius of potential 'doom.' I have been 'lurking' on ALL of the threads pertaining to this catastrophe, because I have extended family in the area, who I am watching out for, as well as myself and my immediate family (who could be in danger should the unthinkable occur). I will admit that I did post a reply to the 'bunker' explosion, where I said that it was a munitions bunker explosion, citing the local news source.
I am rethinking that position!

Anyway...

If anyone is interested in the geological make-up of this part of La. I have some info that is quite interesting. There are fault lines ALL across southern Louisiana. There is also subsidence to factor in. The subsidence is minimal, however, it IS much more than they had previously thought. This was covered in one of the threads, with a link to how New Orleans is sinking faster than scientists and geologists previously thought.

If anyone wants to read this, it is well worth the time. This is FULL of invaluable information on how salt domes are formed, on how the faults run in the state, on the different geological factors at play that could have an impact on this, as well as sinkhole collapse.

I would love to discuss this with people who want to take the time to read this.

This is good information thank you. I was looking for this. I have only glanced at it, but will study tomorrow.

My question is:

Are you concerned that the aquifer that supplies this area, as well as other states, may explode due to changes in water level or pressure due to the drought this past summer?
Also is there any truth to the rumor that oil may have been stored beneath the aquifer?

I found it very interesting and extremely informative on the geological make-up of Louisiana.

I think that since there are statements, on record, of concern of the silt/mud layer not having enough strength to hold back the pressure of the underlying gas, then we do need to be concerned.
I will personally look into this, as it is of high importance.
As far as oil having been stored under the aquifer, I will need to do more research. I would not be surprised, though. Very little surprises me anymore, sad to say.

I will have more to post, tomorrow. I need to do more research, now.

Could Mother Nature handle this, as she hasbeen doing for thousands of years?- i dnno, but was up until the wee hours studying this, and i found that whole mess down there, already, just looks like one big slab of Swiss cheese, itis horrifyingly beautiful and breath-taking, and shouldhave been turned into a grandiose, mega, tourist attraction.- motels, little boats and all, not a residential area:
