I don't think Ovomit wants to stop welfare payments. Unless, of course, all payments magically get lost because of the storm, and his campaign gets extra funding. Something to watch for.

Make sure if the power goes out that anything you had on like an electric skillet is unplugged.

Or other dangerous things that will be back on when the power is restored, and you may be sound asleep and get burned up alive.

Check all things to make sure they are off or unplugged when the power goes off.

This I have seen cost a toddle boy and his mother to burn to death.

I'm not on welfare I own a business and pay my taxes just like everyone else. I'm tired of all free loaders white, black hispanic, cuba, haitian, somali, and anyone who's able to work but won't. Suburb north of Houston, we were without power for nearly three weeks after hurricane Ike in 2008. And the electric company had repair crews from other areas standing by, ready to get to work as soon as they could. They can't fix everything at once and it just takes time. This much larger area of outage will take quite a while.

We did love in the stone ages. How dare you!

Also, vast numbers of normal working people will be without jobs and without access to their funds. Not getting a paycheck is as bad for most folk nowadays as not getting their welfare check. No savings. Just sayin'

My brother didn't save money either but I informed him of what might happen in case of a national emergency or national disaster which he prepared himself with food and water for at least 7 weeks. Reasonable people know how to cope in situations like this. But those who've always depended on government their entire lives just don't have a clue how to survive. Hurricane Katrina was an example of this kind of behavior not just blacks but whites as well.
