So men just get married for sex? Really? Not that you've found that one person you want to wake up next to every morning and be your best friend which of course makes the sex that much better anyway.

yes 90% of marrige people dont see the woman until they marry her, its forbidden to date or go out together.

both have to surrender to their fate, specially if you are poor. but if u are rich man, u can divorce this ugly woman anytime and pay for her family some big amount of money to stay away from court. by the way, divorce cases in middle east is the highest in the world.

I can say this is some what true. I have been in numerous relationships fell for the girl but was not ready to get married at the time. The sex is a great perk to getting married but I feel that well since I am not ready to settle down yet lets see what else is out there. I can say now I am in a strong relationship shes head over heals in love with me an I love her too she puts up with my shit an I put up with hers her family is a little ridiculous most of the time, but who's isn't. I am getting to that age where I am ready to settle down and this woman would be a great mother and lover and wife. I don't believe in that best friend stuff I have a best friend already and you can't take his place lol but you can be my lover wife and mother of my children. I mean this girl we have been friends way before we started dating so we kinda are friends but not best friend's. The pressure part yes some men fall for the pressure cause they are tired of hearing when are we getting married talk and hear people ask you the same question. I personally tell people when the time comes ill pop the question but for now I am enjoying what we have I am not going anywhere and I love her to much to let her go. So yes pressure and timing and situation(shotgun wedding) I feel is what makes us marry.

I didn't marry for sex. Had plenty of that before marriage.

I married because it was time to bring forth outstanding people into this world. Good genetics, beauty, intelligence, and a solid moral upbringing.

Out of the women from my past I chose the one who lied the least and would make the best mother while providing the best genetics.

The wife I chose for myself is stunningly beautiful. RH Negative blood. She comes from French aristocracy while I am a full blooded scandia. Our kids are paid models who have each skipped a grade. Their mother was the right choice. She is perfect in every way. We are deeply committed to our children.

Our marriage is kind and passionate. Lots of love and as a result, lots of sex. We enjoy long tantric sessions. I provide everything she needs to manage our home and our family. Life couldn't be better.

She doesn't piss away money. She is honest. She doesn't flirt around. Everyone in our community has the utmost respect for her. She gives back in a way that is indescribable.

new one seems to be ok with it.. although has said something about it.. I reminded her I would not ever get married.. havent heard anything about it since.

bottom line.. if at any point i feel any pressure to do so.. from her, her family.. or anything.. I will end it.

My gf and I have been together for 13 years, have 2 kids...and no way in hell are we marrying. The most we've said we'll do is have a little 'marriage' ceremony when we'be been together for 25 years to say thank you... :-)

Sounds like you have a wonderful relationship. So what will push you over the edge and pop the question? Do you have to be faced with losing her to totally commit? My sis did this and neither of them are happy in their marriage.

I am a divorced woman without children currently and in my 30's but this was definitely a very interesting conversation with my coworkers, most of who are male. They tend to lean towards the answer of "she wasn't going to wait forever, so I pulled the trigger." which sounds horrible! I want someone to be with me because he wants to be with me, not because I pressured him or played games.

Does she understand how adamant you are about this? This is what ruined my marriage. He thought he could change my mind about not wanting children and when he realized he couldn't he stopped loving me and cheated.

I wouldn't say that men suddenly realize that they're ready for the marriage and then marry the girl who's there at the moment.

Almost twenty years ago I fell in love with my current wife, but didn't marry her until two years later in a small civil ceremony. We were perfectly happy living as an unmarried couple, but our legal system has archaic rules about unmarried couple having kids.

If an unmarried couple has a kid, both parents are interrogated by a state civil servant about their sexual habits and other very personal issues ("how often do you have sex?", "what kind of positions do you use?", "when was the last time you had sex?", "have you had any other partners?", "is your menstrual cycle regular?", "have you ever had any STDs?") before the child is legally yours. If you refuse to answer or tell them to f-off, they won't certify your fatherhood. Kafkaesque, isn't it?

So, when the issue of having kids came up, we chose to make our status official in a small (less than 10 guests) civil ceremony to avoid this bullshit.

Some yes, but not all. I have very little interest in what a man can provide financially. I have my own job and live very comfortably. I wouldn't want a man who can't pull his own weight and pay his way, I don't make enough to pay for two.

The one who lies the least seems to be a common thread here, and I tend to agree. Lying and cheating are the worst abuse of a person's trust. Once trust is gone, so is the relationship.

Back to the money; I'm sure there are many women who would trade attraction, love and common interests for money but some of us just won't.

If a couple gets divorced, they should take what they contributed and nothing more. If there are children involved, then they should split the cost of raising them in relation to their income. This is part of the reason I never wanted children. I had the fortunate experience of being raised by both my parents who were married for 42 years until my father died. I couldn't imagine it any other way.

In my divorce I took nothing except the things I contributed with my own income or brought into the marriage even though I caught him cheating. Divorce should not be a money making endeavor.

Prenups are a great idea although it would be nice to be able to trust the word of a future spouse BEFORE you marry them.

But you have a commited relationship? I understand the concept of not marrying because of the archaic practice, govt control bs. There does have to be a commitment of some sort though. A sense of security, that you only want to be with and love each other for the long haul. Especially before starting a family-unless it happened by suprise.
