They were basically locked in the Super Dome. Some well alot were raped and murdered in there. Also flooding to the roof tops was more dramatic. They were not warned. You guys were warned lots. Not saying it fair. Friendship isn't about whom you have known the longest...Its about who walked into your life and said...I am here for you. |

The guy just works there, he's probably lowest of the low level employees that doesn't know jack shit and then someone like you calls and makes his day hell, asking him all these stupid race equality questions. Just chill out and wait, you're not the only one. Plus idk why your expecting help from FEMA of all agencies...they don't give a shit about the people. Do you not see the freakin shackled and caged trucks they're shippng, the freakin FEMA camps they're preparing to cage us up in like rats...it's gonna be like the movie the crazies, everyone gets rounded up and dealt with accordingly. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1402340 United States 11/05/2012 03:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My heart goes out to those suffering in NY now. Staten Island was ravaged by what appears to be an epic tsunami surge well beyond the 6 to 12 ft forecasted. The fires that raged in Rockaway are a tremendous tragedy, and the lack of meaningful response to these two areas is horrifying. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 25023241 United States 11/05/2012 03:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | well i just called fema and asked some questions.... Quoting: fuck the government 26867127 why were katrina victims given $2000 debit cards after the storm but there is 0 financial aid being given to us? they said it was a different type of disaster or some bs ... i said how so the guy was just like i dont make the rules dc does... i asked if it was because those people were black and poor and were crying that they weren't getting aid because they were black? i asked what about all the fema trailers that they have and why weren't they up here ?? the guy just said he didnt know and they might be coming up here and referred me to a disaster center in my county i asked how come katrina victims were given food clothing shelter and all that cash and we have none of that available and he said it was a different kind of disaster and when i asked how come he didnt have an answer and i heard a supervisor or someone pickup and start listening in on the call he basically had no answers other then i might get rental assistance but no clue as to when the inspector would call me just to sit by my phone and wait then to top it off after i was saying all this and how it sounded racist against white people he pretends he cant hear me when i can hear him as clear as day and had plenty of signal on my phone and hangs up so basically katrina victims who were mostly all black got 2000 cash ... food stamps/vouchers trailers and housing and clothing diapers etc etc and us white people up here who paid for all those nice things are getting ...ummmmm.... well we can go stay on a used cot in a local shelter for a while and wait for fema to call us also was told none of that type of assistance would be made available to us and any financial aid and food stamp type aid or anything like that would have to go through the state not fema that fema is only covering property damages also i am not a racist i have nothing against blacks or what they were given just wondering why we who are mostly all white are getting jack shit also im not looking for a handout they are not letting me go back to work so therefor i need financial aid which there is none available George Bush was President then. For all his sins, I do think he was kind at heart and cared. Things that he has done under the radar speaks volumes. Like visiting the Fort Hood victims in the hospital. Never heard about that probably. Obama on the other hand. Does not care if it does not promote Obama. He is there for the photo op.As for Fort Hood, Obama never darkened a door. Bush flew over the Katrina disaster area. He surveyed the damage. He did not land to take valuable rescue assistance from areas that needed help to protect him. He did not make it about him. Obama showed up after Sandy to campaign. It was ALL about him. Democrats can say what they will about Bush being a Republican. And Obama can blame Bush for the fall of Lucifer. But of the 2. Bush is the better man. |

Not saying it fair. Quoting: TrinityMountain O they we re warned. It was a hurricane, they had what, 3 weeks to watch it roll in! A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. Friedrich Nietzsche if I did not feel so sad as I look at them. Sad because they do not know the truth and I do know it. Oh, how hard it is to be the only one who knows the truth! But they won't understand that. No, they won't understand it." --from The Dream of a Ridiculous Man (1877) |
SewDucky User ID: 23684754 United States 11/05/2012 04:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You never hear about the people that were displaced where they shipped them after. I lost my apartment...because the landlord wanted to raise the rent and get the section 8 money. My shithole was $700 a month, and I was given the chance to stay for a rent increase to $1850, and Texas residents could not use section 8 vouchers. I lost my job...because they had to hire so many Katrina victims. (I wasn't fired, just taken off the schedule so I couldn't get unemployment either.) Crime went up in my neighborhood. Several hotels were condemned after they left, due to damage. Of course, I moved to a place that I got kicked out of for the Cowboy's stadium, but that's a different rant. |
